Die Hard Giants Fan Q & A

December 21, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  This Sunday the New York Giants come to Buffalo to take on the Bills.  I had the opportunity to ask some questions this week to a die hard Giants fan, Keith Krummel.  Keith fielded my questions and he did an awesome job with it.  Keith and MrJokah asked me some questions, which will be posted on the Die Hard Giants Fan blog.

1) How will your offense cope without Jeremy Shockey?

A) Kevin Boss is going to fill in for Shockey.  Boss had a few catches last Sunday, but he won’t fill Shockey’s role on the team.  Shockey has become a complete TE.  His receptions have declined, but his blocking is much better, and he draws double coverage which leaves other receivers open.  Tom Coughlin will probably have Boss run some routes, but that’s about it.

2) Is Brandon Jacobs capable of carrying a team?

A) Now that Jacobs’ rookie season is coming to an end, it seems like he is injury prone.  He is huge, and he runs upright.  If the injuries are just a coincidence then I believe he can carry a team.  Even though I believe that he can carry a team, I believe that a quicker back would be a great complement to the team’s arsenal (i.e., Derrick Ward, Tiki Barber, Warrick Dunn, or Reggie Bush).

3) Will Coughlin be back next year no matter what?

A) Tom Coughlin will only be back if they make the Playoffs for the 3rd straight year.  He was given a 1-year deal last offseason.  Even though they made the Playoffs two straight years, they got eliminated in the first round.  The team did seem to rally around him more this year, but it won’t matter if the results are the same.

4) Do you see Eli Manning playing his entire career with the Giants?

A) That depends if it is up to Eli or the Giants.  The Giants will probably keep Manning until his contract expires.  I can see the Giants and Eli not agreeing on terms if things don’t improve.  They say that Eli has as many wins as Peyton through the same amount of games, but Peyton did it without the weapons that Eli has.  Peyton had Harrison and James, while Eli has (or had) Tiki, Shockey, Burress, Toomer, Hilliard, Jacobs, and all of the other Pro Bowl talent that Eli has had.  Eli’s wins should be more than others due to the talent that he has on his offense.

5) Will Strahan be back next season?

A) I hope not.  I cannot root for a man that beats his wife.  I didn’t want him back this year.  He’ll probably stay around just to piss me off.

6) Whats the deal with Plaxico?  Is he still bothered by the ankle?

A) Plaxico Burress has started every game this season.  He only practiced twice during the season.  He started out very hot, and he was tied with Moss and T.O. for most TDs for about 8 weeks.  Then, he was unable to play at that level due to his ankle.  Eli and Plaxico have not been in sync.  The problem really is that Tom Coughlin has nobody else to put in.  One would think that the 2nd or 3rd receiver can be better than the injured 1st receiver, but apparantly not.

7) How do you think your defensive ends will do against our o-line?

A) I wish I knew more about your O-line.  I only saw the Bills play the
Cowboys and the Jets.  You guys looked better than average against the
Cowboys (on offense, not defense), and less than average against the Jets.
Our D-line has been able to stack up a few sacks in just about every game
so I believe that will continue.

8) I heard that rookie Aaron Ross will be starting, how has he played  this
 season?

A) Ross has had really good rookie season.  He seems to have learned the
system well.  He has 32 Tackles, 1.5 Sacks, 3 INTs, and 1 TD so far this
season.  I would say he performed a notch under Darrelle Revis’ rookie
season.

9) What is your prediction for the game?

A) I’m calling it 20-19 G-MEN with a missed Buffalo FG to end the
game…sound familiar?
