Marcus Stroud Will Dominate

July 13, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay, Marcus Stroud, NFL, Ryan Denney No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  I was extremely excited when the Bills traded for Marcus Stroud.  A third and fifth round draft choice is a bargain for a player that can dominate on the defensive line.  Stroud is coming into this year healthy and if he can stay that way, I see this defense finishing in the top 10.  There is a cool video about Stroud’s Pro Bowl Presence on BuffaloBills.com.  Stroud is going make players like Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay and Ryan Denney very happy.  I believe that Schobel and Kelsay will have double digit sack seasons.  Go Bills.

Defensive End A Possibility?

April 23, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, NFL, Ryan Denney No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  As the 2008 NFL draft quickly approaches, many so called experts put together their final mock drafts.  One mock I came across has the Bills selecting Florida defensive end Derrick Harvey.  This pick is very intriguing because Harvey had 20 1/2 sacks in his college career.  He would give the team tremendous depth at the position and will be rotating with Pro Bowl defensive end Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay, and Ryan Denney.  With our defensive tackle improvements, having four really good defensive ends would put tremendous heat on opposing quarterbacks.  Our guys can stay fresh and constantly bring pressure the entire game.  Although I feel the team should go wide receiver, if Harvey is there at 11, it might be too hard to pass him up.  Go Bills.

Denney Placed On IR

December 19, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, NFL, Ryan Denney No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans.  Today Ryan Denney became the 15th player to be placed on injured resreve this season.  This is the most players I can ever remember placed on IR.  I know that football is a rough sport and players get injured all the time but to lose that many guys in one season is insane.  Thankfully we have some great depth players that have filled in and helped us to our 7-7 record.  Denney was injured his foot in the preseason and it seemed to linger all season long.  Denney is a big part of our defensive rotation and I guess because we are out of playoff contention, the staff felt it was better to have him heal up for next season.  Get well soon Ryan.  Go Bills.

Injuries Continue For Bills

November 28, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Anthony Hargrove, Anthony Thomas, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Ryan Denney No Comments →

atrain.jpgkelsay.jpgHello Bills fans. Many players missed practice today most notably Chris Kelsay and Anthony Thomas. Kelsay injured his ankle last week and was seen at practice with a boot on. Thomas strained his calf and Coach Jauron said he is not optimistic that A-Train will play. Marshawn Lynch is doing better but will most likely be kept out for the third consecutive week. The Bills do not want to rush him back because a high ankle sprain needs time to recover. I hope Lynch comes back next week because our offense has really sputtered without him. It will hurt not having Kelsay out there. He is an important part of our defensive end rotation. Ryan Denney was also banged up last week but should be able to play. He took a blow to the same foot he broke in the preseason. If Denney cannot go, we will be severely short handed at defensive end. Aaron Schobel and Anthony Hargrove are the only ends with experience. I hope Denney can go this week. If A-train cannot play, look for Fred Jackson to get the start. I’m excited to see what Jackson can do with a full workload. I have been impressed with his play so far and liked him a lot during the preseason. I hope we can get him going early against the Skins this weekend. Get well soon guys. Lets Go Bills.

Preview Game 10: Patriots vs. Bills

November 17, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Anthony Hargrove, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, Donte Whitner, George Wilson, J.P. Losman, Jabari Greer, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Ryan Denney, Terrence McGee No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. Tomorrow the New England Patriots travel to Buffalo to take on our Bills. It’s going to be a crazy crowd for this Sunday night showdown. It will be a very tough to shut down the undefeated Patriots. Lets hope our defense shines again in a primetime game. Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.

Tom Brady vs. Bills defense: Tom Brady is going to be extremely hard to contain. His offensive line gives him all the time the world to find his receivers. Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay, Ryan Denney, and Anthony Hargrove need to get pressure on Brady and force him to make errant throws. If we can apply pressure early and often, look for our secondary to come up with some interceptions.

J.P. Losman vs. Patriots defense: Losman needs to have a big game this week. He must be decisive and accurate. He has to get Lee Evans, Josh Reed, and Roscoe Parrish the ball. I feel that Evans will as always be the go to guy. Look for J.P. to throw some underneath routes and also get the tight ends involved. I think Losman is up for the challenge and wants to beat the team that sidelined him for a few weeks. With Marshawn Lynch being out, J.P. will have to be on his game.

Patriots Receivers vs. Bills secondary: In my opinion this is going to be the deciding factor. Can the Bills secondary shutdown Randy Moss and company? I would say they can and will. Jabari Greer and Terrence McGee need to be physical against Moss & Co. all night. Whether its jamming them at the line or pushing them out of bounds. Just something to get them out of sync. Look for Donte Whitner to make some crushing hits on Moss and Wes Welker. Whitner has been great all season long and is overdue for an interception. Free safety George Wilson has also been great in run support and stopping the long ball.

Ok this is a huge test for the Bills. We need to get going early and force New England into third and longs. Our offense needs to produce long scoring drives to keep Brady off the field. We also need to create some turnovers and put our offense in position to score. I feel that we are going to pull of this upset. My prediction….Bills 24 Patriots 21.

Defensive Ends

November 16, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Anthony Hargrove, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, NFL, Ryan Denney No Comments →

aaron-schobel.jpgkelsay.jpgHello Bills fans. I truly believe that we have the best defensive end rotation in the NFL. Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay seem to always come up with big plays every week. Either its making a tackle behind the line of scrimmage or forcing a quarterback to rush his throw, both ends just make it happen. I’m a little disappointed that both Schobel and Kelsay don’t have many sacks this year. I believe it has to do with the defense we are running. I also think that Anthony Hargrove and Ryan Denney are terrific backups. Both have high motors and fly to the ball. Denney is starting to play better since returning from the broken foot he had. Even though we as a team don’t have many sacks, we are forcing quarterbacks to get rid of the ball faster than they would like. Our ends help out are secondary tremendously and allow Terrence McGee and Jabari Greer to make plays. I love how defensive coordinator Perry Fewell rotates the ends to keep everyone fresh. Great job. Lets hope we can get to Tom Brady this week. Go Bills.

Press Conferences at One Bills Drive

October 17, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, NFL, Ryan Denney, Sam Aiken, Trent Edwards No Comments →

dickjauron2007-200.jpgtrent-edwards.jpglosman_jp1.jpgHello Bills fans. Today was a day that we all waited for because Coach Jauron was going to name this weeks starting quarterback. The decision to go with Trent Edwards leaked out yesterday so when Coach announced it this afternoon it was no surprise. He had his usual Wednesday press conference but was asked some tough questions by the media regarding his decision to go with Trent. He went on to say that this was a decision for this game and they will see what happens after Sunday. Coach also stated that J.P. Losman only practiced three times and is still rusty. He wants to give him another week of practice and make sure the knee is completely healed. Coach also dodged many questions and kept on saying that this decision was not for the rest of the season. It’s hard to believe that if Edwards plays good and the Bills win, Losman will start next week. I don’t care who starts as long as we win. Coach also stated that defensive end Ryan Denney is out for this game and that wide receiver Sam Aiken has been bothered by a hamstring injury. If Aiken cant go, we only have three receivers on Sunday. I think the Bills will sign a receiver real soon. I also watched Trent Edwards and J.P. Losman’s press conferences on buffalobills.com. Trent went on to say that he is really excited for this game and feels that we have an offensive strategy in place to win this game. He knows that we need to win this one. He also said that he has a huge responsibility because the Ravens have a very tough defense. J.P. sounded a little down when he addressed the media. He said that both he and the coaches are not 100% sure that his knee is ok. He said that they didn’t want to rush him back and risk further injury. He was asked if he still feels like he is the #1 guy. He basically responded by saying we will have to wait and see. I really don’t know what to think about both Coach Jauron and J.P. Losman. Coach dodges a ton of questions and J.P. almost sounded defeated. I feel J.P. deserves another shot and I don’t want the coaches to take that away from him. Lets go Bills and please lets get a W this weekend.

Final Game 2: Steelers 26 Bills 3

September 17, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, J.P. Losman, Jim Leonhard, Keith Ellison, Ko Simpson, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Ryan Denney No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. Well my prediction was totally wrong. The Buffalo Bills lost their second straight falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-3. The Bills came out flat and never looked like they were into playing this game. The offense was dismal for the second week in a row. The inability to move the ball is really hurting our defense because they were constantly on the field yesterday. The defense did hold the Steelers to only 12 first half points but the time of possession and the amount of offensive plays were in the Steelers favor. The score of this one could have been a lot worse. Our defense tightened when the Steelers reached the red zone in the first half. The only bright spot in my opinion on defense was Jim Leonhard getting an interception for the second week in a row. He has a knack for the ball and is a very smart player. It’s nice to see someone trying to help this team win.
Our offense continues to struggle in every aspect. Marshawn Lynch did have a few nice runs but was not used at all in the passing game. Lynch is a dynamic back and I don’t know why the Bills don’t run any specific pass plays for him. He ended up carrying the ball 18 times for 64 yards and had one reception for 21 yards. J.P. Losman looked out of sync all day and ended the game 15-25 for 154 yards. He was high on a lot of his throws and was not decisive when he had time to throw the ball. I don’t know if it’s the receiver’s inability to get open or if Losman just can’t go through his reads properly. We have one of the best receivers in Lee Evans and we can’t seem to find a way to get him the ball. Evans only had two catches for 17 yards yesterday. That is unacceptable. This team is not good enough to win if our #1 receiver does not get involved. Evans was showing signs of frustration in the 4th quarter yesterday. He had back to back personal foul penalties. On one play he was being held while going for a ball thrown in the end-zone. The ref did not call pass interference and Evans flipped out. In all his years with the Bills I have never seen that side of Lee. Even Coach Dick Jauron was upset with the officials in this one. Coach Jauron is a mild mannered man but was seen jawing at the officials yesterday. Offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild has to call a better game. I know that the Steelers have a great defense but we have to gain more than 223 yards of offense. Fairchild has to open up the playbook and let Losman loose. We have the speed at the receiver position to take our shots downfield. Hopefully Losman can rebound from two terrible games and show the coaches that he can lead this team.

Our defense continues to struggle to get off the field on third down. We give up way to many first downs and teams our killing us with the run. Willie Parker rushed the ball 23 times for 126 yards and a td. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 242 yards and one td. It kills me every time we let an opposing team’s offense march up and down the field like nothing. We have to be able to stop the run and stop giving receivers a 10-yard cushion. We were unable to get consistent pressure on Roethlisberger and at times it seemed like he had all day to find a target. Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay need to put some pressure on the qb because our secondary is not strong enough to cover for that long. Our defense gave up 420 yards of total offense. This is the second week in a row that we have given up more than 400 yards. Something has to change. Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell needs to mix things up a little bit. Maybe it’s because we are without Ko Simpson, Ryan Denney, Keith Ellison and Anthony Hargrove. I just hope that we can get this thing right and start holding teams in check.

Next week does not getting any easier Bills fans. The Bills travel to New England to face the 2-0 Patriots. The Pats blew out the Chargers last night 38-14. I just hope that we show some positive signs against the Pats. I don’t see us winning but hey you never know. Hopefully Losman can get back on track and lead this team to a victory. Just get the ball in the hands of your playmakers. Evans, Lynch and Roscoe Parrish are the guys that need to be heavily involved to make this offense succeed. Let’s Go Buffalo.

Bills Injury Report

September 05, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, Coy Wire, Keith Ellison, NFL, Ryan Denney No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills have listed both defensive end Ryan Denney and linebacker Keith Ellison out for sundays game against Denver. It is not a suprise being that Denney has a broken bone in his foot and Ellison has a high ankle sprain. It will be interesting to see how well Coy Wire does in place of Ellison. Hopefully he plays well and delivers some serious hits. Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay will be playing the majority of the game and will not be able to rotate as much with Denney being out. Cant wait for Sunday. Lets Go Buffalo.

New Defensive End on the way?

August 21, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, NFL, Ryan Denney No Comments →

There is a rumor circulating that the Bills will sign Al Wallace. Wallace played for Carolina last season. He seems to be a decent end with some size to him. He is 6-5 and weighs 275. I say bring him in and lets see what he can do. We all know that we need another end with Ryan Denney out indefinitely. Hopefully Wallace can come in and get some pressure on the quarterback. We will have to wait and see. Go Bills.
