Hello Bills fans. Today the team wrapped up its mandatory mini-camp as Coach Dick Jauron canceled tomorrows practice. Coach was asked why he canceled the last practice and his response was that he wanted to reward his players for their work so far this offseason. Jason Peters was not in attendance and Coach Jauron anticipates that he will be at St. Johns Fisher College when the team starts training camp on July 25th. Lee Evans did not practice today because he was sick. I cant believe training camp is only six weeks away. I hope the Peters situation gets resolved by then so when can build on the success our line had last season. I watched the highlights video on buffalobills.com and it looks like the defense is going to be a powerhouse. Our secondary has been outstanding during the OTA’s and in the minicamp the past few days. Our offense had its share of good plays and it looks like Derek Schouman will challenge Robert Royal for the starting tight end position. Schouman has been taking first team reps with Royal sidelined. Schouman has shined making some nice catches. Paul Posluszny also has made a ton of plays and looks to be 100% healthy. He is going to be a star and I could see him making the Pro Bowl in the near future. Go Bills.
Fourth round pick defensive back Reggie Corner signed with the team today. Chris Brown of buffalobills.com interviewed Corner after he signed his contract. Corner seems like an intelligent player and was running with the first team at times. Corner will challenge Will James, Ashton Youboty and 7th round pick Kennard Cox for playing time. This is the first time since the days of Antoine Winfield and Nate Clements that I can say this team is stacked at cornerback. Its going to be a tough call for the coaches on who to keep on the roster. The definites are Terrence McGee, first round pick Leodis McKelvin, Jabari Greer and Will James. There is going to be a serious battle in training camp come July 25th. I cant wait for September. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. I just have to say that I am really excited for Friday. I feel that the Bills will go after free agents that will help the team in a big way. Rumors are circulating that the team is interested in wide receiver Ernest Wilford. Wilford is a 6′4″ wide receiver that would help the team fix their red zone woes. Although Wilford didn’t have a great season, the team desperately needs his height and ability to go up and grab a ball. I feel that he will do great with us and help take some pressure off of Lee Evans. I really think the team will sign someone relatively fast and hope it’s a tall wideout like Wilford. I also hope that the Bills go after tight end Alge Crumpler. I feel that Crumpler would help Trent Edwards become a better quarterback. Every team needs a tight end that is a receiving threat. The Bills have two mediocre tight ends in Robert Royal and Michael Gaines. Both Royal and Gaines are good blockers but do not possess the receiving skills that Crumpler does. Wouldn’t it be great to wake up Saturday morning and have a wide receiver and a tight end. That would allow us to focus on defense in the draft. Go Bills and lets sign some players to help us get back to the playoffs.

Hello Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills have a few holes to fill before the start of the 2008 season. My dream would be for the Bills to sign a #2 receiver and a pass catching tight end. I would love to see them go after wide receiver Ernest Wilford from Jacksonville. Wilford is 6-4 and would help us out tremendously in the redzone. Our main problem this past season was the inability to score touchdowns in the redzone. Wilford would make a perfect complement to Lee Evans. Another receiver to look at is Justin Gage from Tennessee. Gage is also 6-4 and would be able to go up for jump balls in the endzone. I would rather have Wilford but would take Gage in a heartbeat. I think the Bills should go after an experienced wideout like the two I just mentioned. Drafting a wide receiver is also a possibility but rookie receivers usually take time to develop. The Bills are also in need of a tight end that can stretch the field. I say they should go after LJ Smith from Philadelphia. If Smith can stay healthy, he would make Trent Edwards life a lot easier. The Bills could use a two tight end set more often with Smith and Robert Royal. The Bills should also bring Michael Gaines back for another season because of his ability to block. Gaines is a big tight end that has decent hands. With adding a tall receiver and a good tight end, the Bills offense in 2008 will be drastically improved. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. I cannot believe the 2007 regular season ends tomorrow. What looked like a promising season turned into another year not making the playoffs. It seems like so long ago that we reached the postseason. It has been eight years and the longest drought in Bills history. The Buffalo Bills will play their last game of the 07 campaign against the Philadelphia Eagles. I usually write about the key matchups to this week’s game but decided that wasn’t necessary for two mediocre teams. The Eagles come into this game with a 7-8 record just like the Bills. This could possibly be Donovan McNabb’s last game as an Eagle. This will be a tough game for us because the Eagles have a really good defense and a great running back. McNabb is dangerous because not only can he beat you with his arm, but can run with the football. The Bills must pressure McNabb from the get go and force him into some bad situations. I’m hoping to see a bounce back game from quarterback Trent Edwards. He started out great last week but could not get the offense going late in the game. Edwards has showed flashes this season and the coaching staff believes in him. He will be our starter next season and a win this week will be huge for his confidence. Running back Marshawn Lynch has had a fantastic rookie season. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in only 12 games played. The Bills must establish Lynch early if they want to wear down the Eagles defense. It hurts that starting left tackle Jason Peters is out with a groin injury. Kirk Chambers must fill his shoes and protect Trent as well as open up some holes for Marshawn to run through. Look for the Bills to put either Robert Royal or Michael Gaines next to Chambers to give him help. I would like to see the Bills open up the playbook and get Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish more involved in the offense. We will need to hit some big plays to get some points on the board. The Eagles will play hard, as they have done all season. Its going to be tough stopping Westbrook because he is an all purpose back. He can beat you with a long run or take a screen pass and go the distance. The Bills defense should be motivated to stop him because they had a terrible game last week against the Giants. I would love to see Marshawn and Trent end the season with a bang. Let Trent sling the ball all over the field. There is absolutely nothing to lose by doing that. I will predict a Bills win like I do every week. I just can never go against my team no matter what. I am extremely disappointed the way this season has turned out but at least we found some things out about the guys we drafted. With a strong offseason, I believe this team can be playing in January next season. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins 38-17 in Orchard Park. Trent Edwards went 11-23 for 165 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Bills to their seventh victory of the season. Both Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson rushed for over 100 yards. Lee Evans and Robert Royal both caught two touchdown passes each from Trent Edwards. The defense played great once again registering five sacks on the day. Free Safety George Wilson returned a fumble for a touchdown. Donte Whitner and Terrence McGee both had interceptions. The Bills led 31-7 at halftime. Miami got the score within 14 but Edwards threw a 70 yard touchdown pass to Lee Evans to seal the win. Rian Lindell kicked a 51 yard field goal setting a Bills record with 18 straight kicks made. The defense came up big all day and didnt allow Miami to mount a comeback. This was a great team win. The Bills are now 7-6 and are looking to land the last wild card spot with a big game next week against the Cleveland Browns. Thanks Trent, Marshawn and the defense. Lets Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. This week the Buffalo Bills travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins. The Bills come into this game with a three game winning streak and look to make it four against the winless Dolphins. The Bills need to win this game to improve their record to 5-4. Here are the key matchups to this week’s showdown.
J.P. Losman vs. Miami Defense: Losman needs to have another big game to show the coaching staff that he is the long term answer at the quarterback position. Look for J.P. to find Lee Evans early and often. He will also need to be smart and not force any throws. I also feel that tight end Robert Royal will have a big day because the Dolphins will be focusing in on stopping Evans. Hopefully Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish are able to play because both players are listed as questionable. If either Reed or Parrish is unable to play, practice squad call up Justin Jenkins must fill in the slot receiver role. I would love to see J.P. throw for over 300 yards and a few tds.
Jason Peters vs. Jason Taylor: This will most likely be the matchup of the day. If Peters can shutdown the speedy pass rusher Taylor, Losman should have enough time to find the open receiver. The offensive line as a whole has been playing well and need to continue that this week. We need to pass and run block effectively against a good Dolphins defense.
Marshawn Lynch vs. Miami Defense: I’m going to say that Marshawn will have his second 100 yard game this week. Last week he had a fantastic game and only seems to get better as the season wears on. The offensive line must open some holes up and Lynch has to pick up some big gains. Look for Lynch to score a few times on the day. I just love the way he plays and he is probably one of the toughest to tackle in the league.
Ok Bills fans after this team started 0-3; I didn’t think we would be at 4-4 going into this game. We need to win this won before we take on the Patriots next week. I have confidence in this team and feel Coach Dick Jauron will have them ready to play. My prediction…Bills 24 Dolphins 10. Lets Go Bills. Please bring home a victory.

Hello Bills fans. Today the Bills placed tight end/h-back Derek Schouman on injured reserve. It also seems that tight end Matt Murphy will be out for the year after tearing his calf muscle. This is a severe blow because Schouman has been playing well since be called up from the practice squad. He seemed to have fit into that h-back role very nicely since Ryan Neufeld went down with an injury. The Bills now only have three healthy tight ends in Robert Royal, Michael Gaines, and Ryan Neufeld. Out of those three, only Neufeld can play the h-back. Royal and Gaines are blocking and receiving tight ends. It doesn’t appear the Bills will make a move but might have to soon. They will most likely go into this game against Miami with three tight ends. I would like to see them bring back Brad Cieslak. I thought he played well last season when called upon. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. This week should be the game where we have an offensive explosion. The Cincinnati Bengals don’t have the greatest defense in the league. J.P. Losman needs to air it out and hit Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish with the deep ball. I wish we could get the tight ends involved more in the passing game. Robert Royal disappears at times and Michael Gaines has too many drops. I guess they are both good blockers but we need a good receiving tight end. I do like rookie Derek Schouman. I feel that he can be a good option for J.P. this week. The Bills use Schouman in the H-back role. He has played well there since his call up from the practice squad. The Bills haven’t had a good tight end since Pete Metzelaars. We also have to find a way to get Marshawn Lynch more receptions. He has a nose for the first down marker and the endzone. Lets hope offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild gives J.P. the green light to throw the ball deep. I also feel that if J.P. has a good game he will get the start next week. I feel that we will be just fine this week with J.P. at the helm. I have a ton of confidence in him to bring home a victory. I know that I will be supporting J.P. and I’m sure the fans at the Ralph will be also. Lets Go Bills. Please bring home a victory.

Hello Bills fans. This week the New York Jets travel to Buffalo to take own our Bills. This is a very winnable game for the Bills. The Bills must pound the ball with Marshawn Lynch this week. The Jets gave up a ton of yards to Ronnie Brown last week. Lynch is primed for a big game and I for one feel the Bills can take this one. It will be nice to be back home and hopefully the crowd will make it tough for the Jets. Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.
Trent Edwards vs. Jets secondary: This week rookie quarterback Trent Edwards makes his first NFL start. J.P. Losman injured his knee last week and Edwards hopes to fill in and get this team its first victory. Edwards needs to play a smart and error free game. The Jets secondary does not scare me and I feel that Lee Evans will have a breakout game this week. Edwards will be looking to Evans early and often as well as mixing in some underneath passes to Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish. Look for Marshawn Lynch to get a few passes thrown his way also. I just wish tight end Robert Royal can get involved and give Edwards another option.
Marshawn Lynch vs. Jets run defense: This is a battle that I think we can win. Our offensive line should be able to get some push against the Jets defensive line. Look for Marshawn Lynch to have over 100 yards rushing this week and two tds. Being that this is Trent Edwards first start, the Bills will be giving Lynch a ton of carries. Let hope Marshawn can run us to a win.
Chad Pennington vs. Bills defense: Here is a matchup that will basically in my opinion, decide the game. If the Bills defense can get of the field and create some turnovers, I feel our offense will provide enough points for us to take this game. We need to get off the field and stop teams from converting third downs. Look for Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay to apply pressure on Pennington. We have to make him rush his throws so our secondary can make some plays.
This week’s game will so what kind of team we have. This is the first game of the season that I would say we have an edge. We are home and the Jets have struggled just like we have. Trent Edwards will surprise some people and throw for two tds. Lets also hope Lynch and Evans have big days and carry this team to victory. It would be nice going into next weeks Monday night game against Dallas. I will be at that game and it will feel much better if we are 1-3. Lets go Bills. Take us to a victory Trent. My prediction….Bills 23 Jets 17
