Peerless Price Released

February 14, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Lee Evans, NFL, Peerless Price No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  Today the team announced that they have released wide receiver Peerless Price.  This is not a shock to me because Peerless missed 12 games last year after having neck surgery.  The team had to move on due to his health.  I was very excited when the Bills signed him back two years ago.  He had a decent 2006 season and I thought he would have bounced back this past year.  His injury really made the Bills thin at the wide receiver position.  It was nice having a guy with his experience opposite of Lee Evans.  It looks like the Bills are either going to sign a wide receiver or draft one with their first or second round pick.  Good Luck Peerless.  Go Bills.

McGahee Returns To Buffalo

marshawn.jpgwillis.jpgHello Bills fans. This week Willis McGahee returns to Buffalo for the first time since being traded this past off-season. McGahee was drafted by the Bills in 2003 but didn’t see his first action until the 2004 season. It was a total surprise when the Bills selected McGahee because Travis Henry was playing well. McGahee was a top prospect in college but had a horrific knee injury that knocked him down to the 23rd pick in the draft. He wasn’t ready to play but the Bills waited for him because they felt he was a special talent. After four seasons with the Bills, McGahee was demanding a contract extension. He only gained 990 yards in 2006 and the Bills wanted to wait to see if he would bounce back in 07 before rewarding him with a new contract. Willis didn’t really want to be in Buffalo. He became frustrated and started to make dumb decisions during games. He seemed to not run as hard as he did in previous years. The Bills granted McGahee’s wish and traded him to Baltimore for three draft picks. What is ironic to me is that one of the draft picks we received for him was used to select our rookie starting quarterback Trent Edwards. What is also pretty funny is that back in 2003 we traded Peerless Price to the Atlanta Falcons for the 23rd pick in the 2003 draft, which we used on McGahee. Peerless has been back with the Bills for two years but is injured. I was tired of McGahee. In my opinion he danced around too much and didn’t try to get the extra yards. I’m really happy that we have Marshawn Lynch and I would take him any day over McGahee. Bills fans are going to heckle Willis all game. When Willis left, he made some comments about the team and how happy he is to be out of Buffalo. Well Willis, I hope this Sunday you get shutdown and our new back talks a couple to the house. Lets go Bills and shutdown the Ravens.

Price to IR; Hargrove added to roster

October 05, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Anthony Hargrove, Buffalo Bills, Josh Reed, NFL, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish No Comments →

buffalo-bills-logo.gifHello Bills fans. Today, Coach Dick Jauron announced that Peerless Price will be placed on injured reserve. He has an injured disc in his neck and will most likely be getting surgery soon. This is a total surprise to me because they never announced that Price was experiencing neck pain. With Price now out for the rest of the season, the Bills currently have only four wide receivers going into Monday nights game. The Bills have to make a move soon and bring someone else in. It looks like Roscoe Parrish will be the #2 and Josh Reed will stay as the slot man. Backup and special teams ace Sam Aiken will have a larger role in the offense. I feel bad for Peerless and wish him a speedy recover. Lets hope our other wide receivers can step up and make some big grabs. In other news, Anthony Hargrove has been added to the 53-man roster. I’m a big fan of Hargrove and love the intensity he brings to the table. Lets hope he can come up with a few big plays this week. Lets go Bills.

Preview Game 2: Bills vs. Steelers

September 15, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Angelo Crowell, Ashton Youboty, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, J.P. Losman, John DiGiorgio, Kevin Everett, Kyle Williams, Larry Tripplett, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Paul Posluszny, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. This Sunday the Buffalo Bills travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers at Heinz Field. The game will be on directv channel 706 and in HD on channel 719. Here are the key matchups the Bills will need to win in order to come out of this game victorious.

Bills run defense vs. Willie Parker: The Bills will have a tough task ahead in stopping the speedy Willie Parker. Kyle Williams, Larry Tripplett, Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay need to hold Parker in check at the line of scrimmage. Parker is the type of back that can break one at anytime. The defense needs to slow him down and not allow any big plays. The Bills will also need their linebackers to have a big game. Angelo Crowell, Paul Posluszny and John DiGiorgio must fight off blocks and make tackles. Lets hope we can shut down the run this week.

Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes vs. Terrence McGee and Ashton Youboty: This weeks game will be a tough task for our secondary. Youboty is starting for the first time since being drafted last year. He came in last week when Jason Webster went down and played well. Both Youboty and McGee will be challenged all game by Ben Roethlisberger. I believe one will have an interception in this game. Holmes is a fast receiver and Ward is a savvy veteran who knows how to get open. He is also a very physical receiver. McGee will need to shut him down and hopefully we can get some turnovers.

J.P. Losman and Bills receivers vs. Pittsburgh’s Defense: J.P. in my opinion needs to have a big game this week. Last week he wasn’t able to get into a flow and missed on a long ball to Lee Evans that would have sealed the win for the Bills. Evans, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish and Josh Reed need to get open and find a way to keep the chains moving. Reed is questionable for tomorrow so if he doesn’t suit up watch Parrish have at least 6 catches. I would love to see Evans catch a bomb from Losman tomorrow. Please lets hit on a few homerun balls tomorrow.

Marshawn Lynch vs. Pittsburgh’s run defense: This is going to be a tough task for rookie Marshawn Lynch this week. Pittsburgh doesn’t allow 100 yard games. Their run defense is stingy and Lynch will have to fight for every yard he gets. Lynch really impressed me last week and I feel he will have another strong game this week. Look for Marshawn to get into the endzone against this defense. As long as the offensive line opens up some holes, Lynch will get his yards.

This is another tough game for the Bills. The Steelers looked really good last weekend and have a strong team on both sides of the ball. The Bills will have to play great special teams this week and try to win the field position battle. Last week special teams came up huge and almost helped us win the game. I would love to see Terrence McGee return a kick in this one. I also feel that the team will play with a heavy heart and win this one for Kevin Everett. My prediction…..Bills 20 Steelers 17

Preview Game 1: Broncos vs. Bills

Hello Bills fans. This Sunday the Denver Broncos travel to Ralph Wilson Stadium to take on our Buffalo Bills. This game has many key matchups and here are a few that the Bills need to win in order to take this game.

Travis Henry vs. Bills run defense: Kyle Williams, Larry Tripplett, Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay, John McCargo, and Tim Anderson need to come up big in stopping Henry. They have to occupy blockers so Posluszny, Crowell, and Wire can attack the ball carrier. The Broncos have a very good line and are known for their chop blocks. Hopefully McCargo can use his speed and get into the backfield to disrupt some of Henry’s running lanes. Look for Poz to be all over the field in this game. I’m predicting 10 tackles and a forced fumble. I also feel that Crowell and Wire will be all over the field as well.

Lee Evans and Peerless Price vs. Champ Bailey and Dre Bly: I am looking forward to see how well Evans does against arguably the best corner in the league in Champ Bailey.
Lee Evans has the speed to get by Bailey so the Bills should go deep right away to take Bailey out of his game. Peerless Price needs to have a good game against Bly to take away some pressure from Evans. Also look for Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish to play a big role in the slot. I feel that we can attack Denver either with the long ball or quick routes from our speedy slot receivers. I’m predicting Lee Evans to have 6 catches for 107 yards and one touchdown. Peerless will have 5 catches for 60 yards. Parrish and Reed will combine for over 100 yards with Reed having a touchdown grab. Also look for Reed to have a running play. He has a knack for breaking tackles.

Jay Cutler vs. Bills secondary: We all know that Jay Cutler has a cannon. Some of the passes he made last year were amazing. Terrence McGee, Jason Webster, Donte Whitner and Ko Simpson need to be on their game tomorrow. Denver has a few good wide receivers especially Javon Walker. Look for McGee to be locked in on him all day. I’m predicting an interception from Whitner. I really feel that he will have a great year at the strong safety position. Jabari Greer should get some time as the nickel back.

I feel that those three are the key matchups the Bills need to win in order to get a victory tomorrow. I can’t wait to see Marshawn Lynch and hope that he has a great game. J.P. Losman will be ready to go and lead this team to victory. For all of you fans with the Sunday ticket, The Bills are on channel 704 and in HD on channel 719. My prediction is Bills 27 - Broncos 20.

Preview Preseason Game 4: Bills vs. Lions

August 29, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Craig Nall, Fred Jackson, J.P. Losman, John Wendling, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. This Thursday is the fourth and final preseason game. The Bills will be taking on the Lions in Detroit. I don’t expect to see J.P. Losman and the starters out there for more than the first two series. Lee Evans is already being held out of the game. It will be interesting to see who JP will rely on that Evans is not out there with the first team. Look for him to go to Peerless Price, Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish on underneath routes. The first team offense will not be taking many chances with the regular season a little over a week away. I would like to see Fred Jackson get a lot of carries in this game. Craig Nall is supposed to come in for JP and then Trent Edwards will finish the game. It looks like the coaches want Edwards to be the #2 QB. Nall must not be happy about that. Looking forward to seeing John Wendling getting some more reps at safety. I think he will turn out to be a special player for us. Good luck to the team and lets get this season started right on September 9th. Lets Go Bills.

Preseason Game 3: Titans vs. Bills

August 26, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, J.P. Losman, Lee Evans, NFL, Peerless Price, Rian Lindell, Roscoe Parrish, Terrence McGee, Trent Edwards No Comments →

The Buffalo Bills dropped their second straight preseason game on Friday. There were plenty of positives to take from this game. J.P. Losman started off the game a little slow but settled in nicely. He threw two picture perfect passes for big gains. The first was a 56-yard completion to Peerless Price that should have been taken in for a score. Peerless was dragged down at the 10-yard line. The Bills had to settle for a field goal after a delay of game penalty pushed them back to the 15. J.P. Losman had a nice scramble on third down and almost made it in to the end zone. Rian Lindell kicked a chip shot in to get the Bills on the board. Down 7-3, Losman hit Lee Evans on a 64-yard touchdown pass to put the Bills ahead 10-7. This was another beautiful pass from Losman and Evans catches almost everything thrown at him. He is truly our best receiver and in my opinion one of the best in the NFL. I hope the Bills sign Evans long term because he is such a phenomenal talent. He ended the day with five catches for 100 yards with a td. Losman finished the first half 9 of 20 for 180 yards with 1 td and 1 int. Roscoe Parrish had a beautiful punt return for a touchdown that was called back due to a holding penalty. Parrish is a very electrifying player. He is so quick and he will have a big role in our success this year. Another positive was the play of running back Fred Jackson. He had four carries for 31 yards and four catches for 80 yards. He was definitely the go to guy for Trent Edwards in the fourth quarter. The Bills should definitely keep him on the active roster this year because he seems like a special player.
There were also many negatives on the night. I know its only preseason but the defense still cannot get off the field after third down. They are letting up to many third down conversions. There were also many missed tackles on Titans qb Vince Young. Hopefully by the start of the season we have most of the problems corrected. Our second and third units gave up too many easy plays to the Titans second and third stringers. I’m a little concerned about the depth we have on defense. Lets hope we can shut down the run when we play Denver on Sept 9th. Terrence McGee got a concussion and will be held out of Thursday’s game against Detroit. Lets get healthy and prepare for the start of the season. Go Bills.

Preview of Preseason Game 3 Titans vs. Bills

August 23, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, Kevin Everett, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Peerless Price No Comments →

I can’t believe the third preseason game is already here. This Friday the Bills host the Titans. The starters are expected to play into the third quarter. Marshawn Lynch is supposed to get the majority of the carries and I for one cannot wait. I want to see him get at least 15-20 carries and see what he can do. I would also like to see J.P. Losman and Lee Evans hookup on a couple of long balls. Hopefully Peerless Price gets on track and makes some receptions. I think this game is going to have some major implications on certain players. Kevin Everett has to do well and show the coaches he can be a viable option in the passing game. I want to see him excel because I feel he can be a nice threat in the middle of the field. Eric Moulds, now a member of the Titans, will be playing in Buffalo for the first time after being traded from the team in 2006. I always loved Eric Moulds and have many fond memories of his great catches and fabulous TDs. I feel like Moulds could have put up even better numbers if he played his 10 years with us with one quarterback. Moulds in my opinion was that great of a wide receiver that he could have challenged Andre Reed for the team reception record. Well let’s hope the Bills play well and come away with a victory. Lets go Buffalo.

Number 2 Wide Receiver

August 20, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, NFL, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish No Comments →

An area of concern this season is production from the number 2 wide receiver. Lee Evans is by far the #1 man on the team. With his fantastic hands and blazing speed, I’m expecting huge numbers this year. Peerless Price is listed as the #2 going into the season. He held the same role last year. Price did have some good games last year and made some great catches, but his yards per reception were low. The Bills would like to stretch the field this year and can do so with Losman’s cannon arm. Roscoe Parrish and Josh Reed are both suited for the slot receiver position. Both will be on the field plenty this year if the o-line can show it can protect without the help of two tight ends. Both Parrish and Reed can work the underneath and have the ability to get yards after the catch. I like Reed a lot and feel he will have a very good year in this offense. I’m also expecting big things from Roscoe this season. He is so quick and seems like he gets up to top speed instantly. Hopefully Price can have a year similar like he had in 2002. What a season it would be if we had our #2 guy have over 1,000 yards receiving. Hey Bills Fans, we can dream and have hope that it will happen.
