Preseason Game 3: Bills 20 Colts 7

Hello Bills fans.  The Buffalo Bills defeated the Colts last night at the brand new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.  J.P. Losman led the first team offense to two scoring drives.  The most impressive was the 18 play 94 yard which took over 10 minutes off of the clock.  The drive was capped off by a one-yard by rookie Xavier Omon.  Losman looked great in this game.  He made quick decisions and released the ball on time to his wideouts.  Its comforting to know that we have a more than capable backup quarterback.  Losman should good command and only had one bad throw.  Lee Evans and Josh Reed were his go to guys and Justin Jenkins made a nice grab for a first down.  The offensive line played well and gave Losman plenty of time to throw the ball.  Left tackle Langston Walker held Dwight Freeney in check and is getting better at his new position.  It was scary when he left the field but x-rays were negative on his forearm.  I still would love to see Jason Peters report one of these days so Walker could move back to the right side.  The Defense had a fantastic game last night getting four interceptions.  Ashton Youboty, Keith Ellison, John Wendling, and Reggie Corner all had picks on the night.  The defensive line played well and on the first play of the game Chris Kelsay sacked Jared Lorenzen.  I cant wait to see this team hit the field on September 7th.  Check out the highlights of the game on nfl.com.  Go Bills.

Last Day of Training Camp Practice

August 20, 2008 By: billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Dick Jauron, J.P. Losman, Jason Peters, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  It feels like yesterday that the Bills started their 2008 training camp at St. John Fisher.  I cant believe a month has gone by already.  Trent Edwards was held out of practice today with a thigh contusion.  He is said to be day to day which is great news.  Marshawn Lynch was practicing today after last nights leg to leg collison with Edwards.  Im thankful that Trent’s injury is minor and hopefully he will be full strength by Sunday.  If Coach Jauron decides to hold him out, J.P. Losman will get the start.  I really want to see how Trent performs after last weeks great game.  The starters usually play the entire first half in the third preseason game and it would be nice to see what Trent can accomplish.  Left tackle Jason Peters is still a no-show.  It has been rumored that he would report soon.  Rams holdout running back Stephen Jackson will report to Rams camp tomorrow.  This is a good sign because he has the same agent as Jason Peters.  Hopefully Peters will be back with the team because we need him for the start of the season.  Lets Go Bills.

Starters Play Well In First Half

Hello Bills fans.  I was able to watch the first half of tonights game online.  I have to say that the offense has woken up.  Trent Edwards was 9-11 for 104 yards and two td’s.  Robert Royal caught both td passes from Trent on perfectly thrown balls.  Lee Evans had three catches for 55 yards and Marshawn Lynch carried the ball five times for 25 yards.  The offensive line had great push on running plays and protected Trent everytime he dropped back.  The starting defense started a little shaky but rebounded nicely by getting an interception.  The defensive line had great pressure and forced Big Ben to throw into traffic.  The ball was deflected by Ko Simpson into the hands of Donte Whitner.  I know its only preseason but this was the type of play I was looking for.  Go Bills.

Bills Getting Noticed

July 16, 2008 By: billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  I just came across this article written by Mike Lombardi from sports illustrated listing three non-playoff teams that will make a big leap this season.  Lombardi’s first team is the Bills.  He states that he loves the team and feels that Bills will be a very tough team this year.  He goes on to say that last year with a few bounces here and there the Bills were almost a playoff team.  He lists our playmakers such as Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish.  He also mentions our great special teams and our  bright young quarterback Trent Edwards.  Lombardi is also the guy that said the Bills had a fantastic draft when he was on NFL Network.  Check out the article on SI.com.  Go Bills.

In Trent We Trust

Hello Bills fans.  I came across this article on sportingnews.com that analyzes the Bills from a fantasy football prospective.  The article basically states that the Bills will open up the offense more under new coordinator Turk SchonertMarshawn Lynch will also be given more responsibility in the passing game.  Trent Edwards will be relied upon to take this team to the next level.  The Bills brass has a lot of faith as do I in Trent.  I feel that he has the brains and the tools to help this team get back to the playoffs.  I also feel with the additions of Marcus Stroud and Kawika Mitchell, our defense can dominate especially at stopping the run.  A healthy Stroud means linebackers Paul Posluszny and Angelo Crowell flowing to the ball untouched.  Stroud will be doubled team which will also free up either John McCargo, Kyle Williams or Spencer Johnson.  This team is going to suprise many and I can’t wait for September 7th.  Go Bills.

Lynch Set To Plead Guilty

Hello Bills fans.  Finally the day has come.  The Marshawn Lynch situation will hopefully be resolved tomorrow.  Lynch is scheduled in court tomorrow and will plead guilty to a traffic violation that will help him avoid a criminal charge.  I dont believe the league will suspend Lynch because of the charges at hand.  I hope this will put the entire situation behind us and let Lynch focus on football.  Check out the article on timesunion.com

Season Of Hope

June 23, 2008 By: billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, James Hardy, John McCargo, Josh Reed, Kawika Mitchell, Lee Evans, Leodis McKelvin, Marcus Stroud, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  We are only five weeks away from training camp at St. Johns Fisher College.  There is a ton of optimism by most Bills fans about the team this season.  Trent Edwards showed flashes last season that he could finally be our long term starter at quarterback.  He had some good games and helped the team win.  He also had some rough games which is totally normal for a rookie signal caller.  Trent showed his smarts and quick reaction when going to his second or third target.  He hardly ever locked on to one receiver and sensed when the heat was coming.  I am very excited about this upcoming season.  With offensive weapons such as Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish, Josh Reed and rookie James Hardy along with Trent Edwards, I expect this team to make some noise.  Our defense is going to be much improved due to the additions of Kawika Mitchell, Marcus Stroud, and rookie Leodis McKelvin.  Mitchell is going to make an immediate impact on the weakside.  He is a big linebacker with a knack for the ball and can also help out in coverage.  Stroud will be a dominant force in the middle.  Stroud and John McCargo will help out our run defense tremendously.  This team has a bright future and will continue to improve under Coach Jauron.  Can you say playoffs?  I can.  Go Bills.

Lynch Expected To Plead Guilty

June 21, 2008 By: billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Marshawn Lynch, NFL 1 Comment →

Hello Bills fans.  As per the Buffalo News, Marshawn Lynch is expected to admit that he was the driver when the hit and run accident took place in Downtown Buffalo.  The article states that Lynch will not receive any jail time because he will plea to a lesser charge.  Im extremely happy that this situation is coming to an end.  I feared that it would last longer making Lynch miss some time during training camp.  I hope Lynch does not get suspended by the NFL.  Lets hope this is the last mishap of the offseason.  Go Bills.

Bills Interested In Running Back

June 19, 2008 By: billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  As per nfl.com, the Buffalo Bills along with a few other teams have shown interest in free agent running back Kevin Jones.  Jones played for the Lions but was released prior to the NFL draft.  Jones is recovering from knee surgery and looks to hook up with a team in the next few weeks.  He had some good season with the Lions rushing for over 3,000 yards in four seasons.  The only reason that I see the Bills interested in Jones is because he will add to the competition for the backup spot behind Marshawn Lynch.  If Jones is completely healthy, I wouldn’t mind the team bringing him in as a backup.  I do like current backup Fred Jackson a lot but if we can improve in any area at anytime, I’m all for it.  Lets see how this one unfolds leading up to training camp.  Go Bills.
