john-digiorgio.jpglosman_jp2.jpglee-evans.jpgHello Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills defeated the Jets today 13-3. Trent Edwards started the game and went 14-21 for 130 yards and one interception. He left the game at the end of the third quarter with a wrist injury. J.P. Losman came off the bench and went 3-5 for 113 yards and a touchdown. His 85-yard bomb to Lee Evans put the Bills ahead to stay. He also threw a bomb to Roscoe Parrish that was on the money but Parrish couldn’t hold on. Losman came in and drove the team to two scoring drives. Marshawn Lynch had 21 carries for 80 yards. As always all of his yards were hard fought. The offense was really sluggish today until the 4th quarter. We had a great opening drive that lasted over ten minutes but couldn’t put the ball in the endzone. Rian Lindell was perfect on the day going 2 for 2 on field goals. The defense had another tremendous game. What can I say, it just seems that we are getting better and better on the defensive side. Aaron Schobel had a sack and two forced fumbles. John DiGiorgio led the team with 13 tackles. Kyle Williams and John McCargo contributed with some great tackles. Angelo Crowell had a big sack knocking the Jets out of field goal range. Anthony Hargrove and Chris Kelsay had solid games applying pressure on Pennington. Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell really has these guys playing hard. Terrence McGee and Jabari Greer held Coles and Cotchery in check. Our special teams also played great. Our punt and kickoff coverage was phenomenal. John Wendling had two special teams tackles. I was very nervous during this game because it was close up until Evans touchdown. Our young team is finding ways to win close games. Something that was a tough task only a few weeks ago. Lets Go Bills. Thanks for the win

Defense Impressive in Win over Ravens

john-digiorgio.jpghargrove.jpgHello Bills fans. Still flying high after our win yesterday. Mondays are so much better after a win. One thing I have to say is I love the way the defense is playing. Angelo Crowell was all over the field yesterday. He led the team in tackles and had a big forced fumble in the first half. It also seems that middle linebacker John DiGiorgio is developing into a real good player. He has tremendous speed and seems to always be around the ball. DiGiorgio shows that he belongs out there and plays hard every snap. Anthony Hargrove is another player that has sparked this defense. Since coming back from his suspension, he has been a relentless pass rusher and just seems to fire everyone up. I really like the way our young defensive tackles are playing. Both Kyle Williams and John McCargo had tackles for loss yesterday and show they can get into the backfield. McCargo is showing why the Bills traded up to get him in the first round in 2006. Jabari Greer is also another player that has stepped up his game and contributes every week. Greer and Terrence McGee give the Bills two corners with great closing speed. There are both very aggressive and really good tacklers. Donte Whitner is also playing well. He has really impressed me with his toughness against the run and his ability to help the corners out in coverage. Credit also has to be given to defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. He has really developed great game plans even though he is missing some of his starters. The only thing that concerns me is that Chris Kelsay injured his ankle yesterday. It was not said how serious the injury was but we cannot afford to lose another defensive starter. This defense seems destined to show everyone that they are no pushovers. Lets go Bills. Bring home another victory.

Watched The Monday Night Game

buffalo-bills-logo.gifHello Bills fans. After experiencing the tough loss in person on Monday night, I decided to watch the game again. I had the game taped and decided why not watch the first 59 minutes. I was looking at certain things like the offensive line, defensive line, quarterback, and receivers. Ok let me just say one thing. The right side of our offensive line needs to improve. When starting right guard Brad Butler went out with a hip injury, Duke Preston came in and didn’t do such a great job. I watched him on a few plays get pushed back into Trent Edwards lap. Right tackle Langston Walker also has trouble with speed rushers on the end. He was getting blown off the ball and looked stiff. I do believe that losing Butler was tough on the entire line. We need to use this bye week to get our offensive line healthy. We need to run block better also. Marshawn Lynch did not have many holes to run through in this game. He kept on getting hit behind the line of scrimmage because our o-line couldn’t get any type of push. It almost seemed as if we were getting pushed back the entire second half. I got to say our defensive line is starting to look good. I really like the way John McCargo and Kyle Williams are playing. McCargo seems to always make some good plays and Williams has a relentless style. I’m really happy that McCargo is starting to show why we drafted him in the first round in 2006. Another area of concern for me is wide receiver. I know that Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish have played real good but I would love to see Lee Evans have a 10 catch over a 100-yard game. Evans is a fantastic wide receiver and we need to get him more involved to put more points on the board. It would be nice if we had a good #2 receiver to take some pressure off of Evans. Watch out for Evans after the bye. I think he is going to put up some nice numbers and help this offense. Trent Edwards is a real good quarterback. There were a few plays were a blitz was coming and Edwards stayed so cool in the pocket and threw a completion. Edwards plays the game like a veteran. He seems like he doesn’t get rattled and knows where his receivers are. He also has a nice touch on short routes and showed that he can fire it to the outside as well. Edwards had a really good game in my opinion and the offense had the chance to score more points in this one. The play calling was questionable in certain situation and wish we could have run some different plays. Lets hope we can correct some of our mistakes during the bye week and come out on October 21st and beat the Ravens. Lets Go Bills.

Preview Game 2: Bills vs. Steelers

September 15, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Angelo Crowell, Ashton Youboty, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, J.P. Losman, John DiGiorgio, Kevin Everett, Kyle Williams, Larry Tripplett, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Paul Posluszny, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. This Sunday the Buffalo Bills travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers at Heinz Field. The game will be on directv channel 706 and in HD on channel 719. Here are the key matchups the Bills will need to win in order to come out of this game victorious.

Bills run defense vs. Willie Parker: The Bills will have a tough task ahead in stopping the speedy Willie Parker. Kyle Williams, Larry Tripplett, Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay need to hold Parker in check at the line of scrimmage. Parker is the type of back that can break one at anytime. The defense needs to slow him down and not allow any big plays. The Bills will also need their linebackers to have a big game. Angelo Crowell, Paul Posluszny and John DiGiorgio must fight off blocks and make tackles. Lets hope we can shut down the run this week.

Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes vs. Terrence McGee and Ashton Youboty: This weeks game will be a tough task for our secondary. Youboty is starting for the first time since being drafted last year. He came in last week when Jason Webster went down and played well. Both Youboty and McGee will be challenged all game by Ben Roethlisberger. I believe one will have an interception in this game. Holmes is a fast receiver and Ward is a savvy veteran who knows how to get open. He is also a very physical receiver. McGee will need to shut him down and hopefully we can get some turnovers.

J.P. Losman and Bills receivers vs. Pittsburgh’s Defense: J.P. in my opinion needs to have a big game this week. Last week he wasn’t able to get into a flow and missed on a long ball to Lee Evans that would have sealed the win for the Bills. Evans, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish and Josh Reed need to get open and find a way to keep the chains moving. Reed is questionable for tomorrow so if he doesn’t suit up watch Parrish have at least 6 catches. I would love to see Evans catch a bomb from Losman tomorrow. Please lets hit on a few homerun balls tomorrow.

Marshawn Lynch vs. Pittsburgh’s run defense: This is going to be a tough task for rookie Marshawn Lynch this week. Pittsburgh doesn’t allow 100 yard games. Their run defense is stingy and Lynch will have to fight for every yard he gets. Lynch really impressed me last week and I feel he will have another strong game this week. Look for Marshawn to get into the endzone against this defense. As long as the offensive line opens up some holes, Lynch will get his yards.

This is another tough game for the Bills. The Steelers looked really good last weekend and have a strong team on both sides of the ball. The Bills will have to play great special teams this week and try to win the field position battle. Last week special teams came up huge and almost helped us win the game. I would love to see Terrence McGee return a kick in this one. I also feel that the team will play with a heavy heart and win this one for Kevin Everett. My prediction…..Bills 20 Steelers 17

Preview Game 1: Broncos vs. Bills

Hello Bills fans. This Sunday the Denver Broncos travel to Ralph Wilson Stadium to take on our Buffalo Bills. This game has many key matchups and here are a few that the Bills need to win in order to take this game.

Travis Henry vs. Bills run defense: Kyle Williams, Larry Tripplett, Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay, John McCargo, and Tim Anderson need to come up big in stopping Henry. They have to occupy blockers so Posluszny, Crowell, and Wire can attack the ball carrier. The Broncos have a very good line and are known for their chop blocks. Hopefully McCargo can use his speed and get into the backfield to disrupt some of Henry’s running lanes. Look for Poz to be all over the field in this game. I’m predicting 10 tackles and a forced fumble. I also feel that Crowell and Wire will be all over the field as well.

Lee Evans and Peerless Price vs. Champ Bailey and Dre Bly: I am looking forward to see how well Evans does against arguably the best corner in the league in Champ Bailey.
Lee Evans has the speed to get by Bailey so the Bills should go deep right away to take Bailey out of his game. Peerless Price needs to have a good game against Bly to take away some pressure from Evans. Also look for Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish to play a big role in the slot. I feel that we can attack Denver either with the long ball or quick routes from our speedy slot receivers. I’m predicting Lee Evans to have 6 catches for 107 yards and one touchdown. Peerless will have 5 catches for 60 yards. Parrish and Reed will combine for over 100 yards with Reed having a touchdown grab. Also look for Reed to have a running play. He has a knack for breaking tackles.

Jay Cutler vs. Bills secondary: We all know that Jay Cutler has a cannon. Some of the passes he made last year were amazing. Terrence McGee, Jason Webster, Donte Whitner and Ko Simpson need to be on their game tomorrow. Denver has a few good wide receivers especially Javon Walker. Look for McGee to be locked in on him all day. I’m predicting an interception from Whitner. I really feel that he will have a great year at the strong safety position. Jabari Greer should get some time as the nickel back.

I feel that those three are the key matchups the Bills need to win in order to get a victory tomorrow. I can’t wait to see Marshawn Lynch and hope that he has a great game. J.P. Losman will be ready to go and lead this team to victory. For all of you fans with the Sunday ticket, The Bills are on channel 704 and in HD on channel 719. My prediction is Bills 27 - Broncos 20.
