Final Game 11: Jaguars 36 Bills 14

November 25, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Anthony Thomas, Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, George Wilson, J.P. Losman, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. Well all I can say is that the J.P. Losman era might officially be over. Although he was not the only one to blame for this 22-point loss to Jacksonville, he did make many mistakes. His two interceptions and one fumble were all drive killers. Both interceptions were forced throws into double and triple coverage. With the Bills trailing 13-7 in the second quarter, Losman fumbled on a third and one play with a little over two minutes remaining. This proved to be a costly turnover because the Bills were driving and could have got into field goal range or even scored a touchdown. The fumble led to a Jacksonville field goal giving them a 16-7 lead going into the half. If we could have gotten even a field goal and went into the half only down by three, it would have been a whole different ball game. Losman looked scared in the pocket and kept on dumping the ball off to Anthony Thomas. I have no problem with doing that to gain yards but at some point you have to take your shots down the field. Lee Evans was held without a catch until garbage time in the fourth quarter. Offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild has to find a way to get Evans more involved if this team wants to succeed. He is our best receiver and needs to be thrown to more than a few times a game. It also extremely hurts that Marshawn Lynch is injured. He was our whole offense for the first nine games of the season. The A-train is not cutting it. He did make a nice play on his first career-receiving touchdown. I hope Lynch is ready when we take on Washington next week. Now on to the defense. The Bills really need to change things up here. Our defensive line cannot get to the quarterback. They also can’t get off of the field on third downs. We allow way to many third down conversions. I also think a change needs to be made in the secondary. George Wilson is not cutting it at free safety. I know that we have a lot of injuries but he seems to be out of position and doesn’t have the speed to recover. David Garrad had all the time in the world and nearly threw for 300 yards. The only positive today from the defense was that they held Jacksonville without a touchdown in the red zone. We had many chances today to get back into the game but Losman and the offense couldn’t deliver. I was a really big Losman supporter and wanted to see him as our starting quarterback. I am now saying that I want to see Trent Edwards for the rest of the season. I know what Losman has and he is not consistent enough to be a starter in this league. He has all the physical tools but plays scared and doesn’t see the field well. Well another disappointing game and at 5-6 the playoffs seem almost out of reach.

Preview Game 11: Bills vs. Jaguars

November 24, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Brian Moorman, Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, Lee Evans, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Terrence McGee No Comments →

buffalo-bills-logo.gifHello Bills fans. This Sunday the Buffalo Bills travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. This is a must win game for the Bills if they want to stay in wild card contention. Jacksonville comes into this one with a 7-3 record. They have a tremendous defense and an excellent running back tandem. Here are the key matchups the Bills most win to come out of this one victorious.

J.P. Losman vs. Jacksonville Defense: As I stated in a previous post, Losman needs to have a big game to hold onto his starting job. He needs to be accurate and get rid of the ball when the heat is on. I hope he can hook up with Lee Evans on some deep routes to help get us into the endzone. Losman must put this team on his back and lead us to victory. I just want to see him have a monster game. He is due for a 300 yard 3 td performance.

Jones-Drew & Fred Taylor vs. Bills Defense: This is going to be a tough task for the run defense this week. Jones-Drew has the power to break tackles and the speed to take it to the house. The defense has to forget about last week and come out and perform at a high level. If we can slow down the run, this will put more pressure on David Garrad. Although Garrad has played well this year, we need to force him into some bad throws. I hope our big guys up front can get penetration and slow down both Jones-Drew and Taylor.

Special Teams: In my opinion, special teams are going to play a major part in this game. Jones-Drew is a dangerous kick returner. Our coverage units must play solid and not allow him to get the Jaguars in good field position. Rian Lindell has been great all year and will have to hit all of his attempts. Brian Moorman must also pin the Jaguars back so we can win the field position battle. I would love to see Roscoe Parrish and Terrence McGee break some long returns.

The Bills are treating this game like a playoff game. Jacksonville is in the wild card hunt also and needs this game just as bad as we do. To be successful, the Bills offense must not turn the ball over and the defense has to get some sort of a pass rush against Garrad. This is going to be a tough game but hopefully we can come out victorious. My prediction….Bills 20 Jaguars 17.

Bills Must Win Sunday

November 23, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Anthony Thomas, Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, J.P. Losman, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Trent Edwards No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. For the second straight week Marshawn Lynch will not play. Anthony Thomas will get the start and Dwayne Wright will be the backup. I would really love to see the Bills give Fred Jackson a chance. Jackson has the speed and elusiveness to pickup some big gains. Hopefully we can run the ball this week against a tough Jacksonville defense.

J.P. Losman will make his fourth straight start. He is looking to rebound from last week’s shaky performance. Look for Losman to air it out in this game because he knows the team needs this win and his job is on the line. I hope he has a great game because I feel that he gives us the best chance to win down the stretch. Losman just needs to improve his accuracy and decision-making. Many experts feel that Trent Edwards has a greater upside than Losman. Although I do like Trent a lot, he is still a rookie and will go through some growing pains. I just want this team to decide on a quarterback and go with it. Lets play to J.P’s strengths and launch the ball to Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish.

Roscoe Parrish needs to be used more in this offense. Although he is undersized, Parrish makes up for it with his quickness and elusiveness. It almost seems that there is a chance that every time he touches the ball he can go the distance. I want to see the Bills run some end arounds and quick slants to Roscoe. He deserves to have the ball in his hands more. Using Roscoe will open up some big plays for Lee Evans and Josh Reed.

The offensive line must have a strong game this week both in pass protection and run blocking. The Jaguars have a very strong defensive line that does not give up yards on the ground. Our offensive line must give Losman time to throw the ball and try to get some push so A-train has some holes to run through. This is going to be a tough task for the big guys. Lets Go Bills. Beat the Jaguars.

Losman Press Conference

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. I just watched J.P.’s press conference on buffalobills.com. He stated that the team is taking this weeks game as a playoff. They need to have this one to stay in the hunt. I couldn’t agree with that more. The Bills need to beat the Jaguars if they want to make a push for the postseason. The Jaguars currently stand two games up on the Bills with six to go. Losman needs to be on his A game because this might be his final shot. The team must move the ball and eat up some clock. Going into this season I thought our offense was going to dominate. We started to click at the end of last season. I don’t know if it’s the play calling or the personnel on the field. We have the weapons and need to use them. It does hurt if we don’t have Marshawn Lynch again this week, which looks likely. I think one of our major problems is not having a solid #2 receiver. I love Josh Reed but he is best suited for the slot role. This offseason we need to either draft a tall receiver or trade for one. The offense needs a second threat to take some heat off of Lee Evans. I’m still waiting for that game where everything clicks. I want to see the offense score at will and the defense shut down an opponent. It’s going to be a tough task against the Jaguars because they have a really good defense. Please J.P. bring one home. Lets go Bills.

Make Or Break Game For Losman

November 20, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

losman_jp1.jpgHello Bills fans. This game in my opinion will be the make or break game for J.P. Losman this season. The Bills need a win in the worst way to stay in the playoff hunt. J.P. must lead this team and find a way to beat the Jaguars in Jacksonville. Getting to 6-5 will be a huge for this team going down the stretch. Jacksonville is a really good team with a great defense and will put pressure on Losman the entire game. J.P. needs to get rid of the ball and not take the unnecessary sacks. I have always been a Losman supporter but I don’t want a quarterback that is erratic. When Losman plays well this team has a chance to beat anyone. We cannot afford to get down early this week and we need big play from our quarterback. If J.P. struggles this week I feel that Coach Jauron will turn it over to Trent Edwards for the remainder of the season. I hope J.P. does well this week because I really feel that he has the tools to get this team back into the playoffs. He also needs to work on his short passing game. It seems that every game there are a bunch of passes that fall short or are overthrown. Please lets get a win this Sunday. Lets Go Buffalo.

J.P. Will Start vs. Jacksonville

November 19, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. Coach Dick Jauron stated that he will stick with J.P. Losman as his starting quarterback. I think Coach had to make this decision right away because if he were to bench J.P., then this would look like he is blaming him for the loss. Although J.P. didn’t look good last night, it was not his fault. If the defense could have came up with some stops maybe J.P. would have had more chances to get us in the endzone. I’m glad this is out of the way. I think this coming week against Jacksonville might be a make or break game for J.P. We will have to wait and see. Go Bills.

Sunday Night Disaster

November 19, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Anthony Thomas, Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. I am embarrassed to put the final score as the title. Losing by 46 points at home is just pathetic. I watched the entire game and was thinking to myself is New England really this good. I mean I know they have dominated almost everyone they played but we were home and coming off four straight wins. I couldn’t understand where that intense defense was. It seemed that everyone took the night off. The only highlight of the night was J.P. Losman hitting Roscoe Parrish with a 47-yard bomb to bring the Bills within a touchdown. That was quickly erased when the Pats marched down the field to make it a 14-point game. Our defense couldn’t get off the field on third downs and let Brady pass at will. He had all the time in the world to sit back and find Moss. It was a very frustrating game to watch. Our offense played scared and our defense look defeated after the first quarter. It might have not made a difference but Marshawn Lynch was extremely missed. It was almost like we went into this game knowing we were going to lose. I put some of the blame on the entire coaching staff. Losman threw a pick on the first drive setting the Pats up with great field position. You cannot give teams like New England those opportunities. We started off the game with a great pass for a first down and then it all fell apart. Anthony Thomas started for Marshawn Lynch and didn’t fare to well. His best run of the night was called back due to the extra lineman the Bills put in not declaring himself an eligible receiver. Whatever could go wrong went wrong in this game. I really thought this team was going to put up a fight and keep this one close. I like every other Bills fan was dead wrong. I always thought that losing a close game was worse because you always feel that your team will pull it out. A blowout loss is just as bad if not worse because the game is not enjoyable. I love the Bills and hope this loss makes the team work even harder. As a die-hard fan, I hate to see the Bills lose. My Monday was miserable not only because of the game but everyone I know bringing it up. Hopefully Coach Jauron will get this team to forget about this game and look forward to beating Jacksonville. We are still in this one. We need to start a new winning streak this coming Sunday. Lets Go Bills.

Preview Game 10: Patriots vs. Bills

November 17, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Anthony Hargrove, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, Donte Whitner, George Wilson, J.P. Losman, Jabari Greer, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Ryan Denney, Terrence McGee No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. Tomorrow the New England Patriots travel to Buffalo to take on our Bills. It’s going to be a crazy crowd for this Sunday night showdown. It will be a very tough to shut down the undefeated Patriots. Lets hope our defense shines again in a primetime game. Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.

Tom Brady vs. Bills defense: Tom Brady is going to be extremely hard to contain. His offensive line gives him all the time the world to find his receivers. Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay, Ryan Denney, and Anthony Hargrove need to get pressure on Brady and force him to make errant throws. If we can apply pressure early and often, look for our secondary to come up with some interceptions.

J.P. Losman vs. Patriots defense: Losman needs to have a big game this week. He must be decisive and accurate. He has to get Lee Evans, Josh Reed, and Roscoe Parrish the ball. I feel that Evans will as always be the go to guy. Look for J.P. to throw some underneath routes and also get the tight ends involved. I think Losman is up for the challenge and wants to beat the team that sidelined him for a few weeks. With Marshawn Lynch being out, J.P. will have to be on his game.

Patriots Receivers vs. Bills secondary: In my opinion this is going to be the deciding factor. Can the Bills secondary shutdown Randy Moss and company? I would say they can and will. Jabari Greer and Terrence McGee need to be physical against Moss & Co. all night. Whether its jamming them at the line or pushing them out of bounds. Just something to get them out of sync. Look for Donte Whitner to make some crushing hits on Moss and Wes Welker. Whitner has been great all season long and is overdue for an interception. Free safety George Wilson has also been great in run support and stopping the long ball.

Ok this is a huge test for the Bills. We need to get going early and force New England into third and longs. Our offense needs to produce long scoring drives to keep Brady off the field. We also need to create some turnovers and put our offense in position to score. I feel that we are going to pull of this upset. My prediction….Bills 24 Patriots 21.

Losman Needs To Lead

November 14, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish No Comments →

theralph.jpgjp-losman.jpgHello Bills fans. If Marshawn Lynch does not play, J.P. Losman will need to put this team on his back and lead us to victory. Losman will have to be accurate and decisive. He has to not only hook up with Lee Evans, but also get Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish involved. The Bills might have to rely on the pass and J.P. needs to take control of this game. I believe that Losman wants this game real bad because of the cheap shot he received the first time these two teams played back in week three. Offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild needs to open the playbook and let Losman throw early and often. This game will show how far this team has come this season. The home crowd will definitely help and will hopefully cause fits for the Pats offense. I hope the crowd is even louder than it was at the Monday night game. Of all the Bills games I have been to, the Monday night game was the craziest. Everyone was into it the entire game. I hope we make a couple of big plays so the crowd stays into it. Lets go J.P. I know you have it in you to lead us to victory. Go Bills.

Marshawn Doubtful For Sunday

November 14, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Anthony Thomas, Buffalo Bills, Dwayne Wright, Fred Jackson, J.P. Losman, Marshawn Lynch, NFL No Comments →

marshawnlynch.jpgHello Bills fans. Coach Dick Jauron stated in his Wednesday press conference that he is not optimistic that Marshawn Lynch will be available for Sunday night’s game against the Patriots. Lynch sprained his ankle in the 4th quarter last week against the Dolphins. If Lynch is not able to go, look for fellow rookie Dwayne Wright to get the majority of the carries. Anthony Thomas will most likely be used on third downs. I would also like to see Fred Jackson get some touches. He impressed me in the preseason. I really hope Lynch heals quickly and is able to go on Sunday. He is a great talent and contributes so much to this offense. J.P. Losman stated that if Lynch is out the other three running backs have to step up. He called Lynch a tremendous force and it will be tough to not have him out there. Lets hope for a miracle and Lynch starts on Sunday. I do like Wright and feel that he can be a good complement to Lynch. I don’t know if Wright can carry the full load but in limited carries this season he has run hard. We need you Marshawn. Lets go Bills.
