Hello Bills fans. We are only five weeks away from training camp at St. Johns Fisher College. There is a ton of optimism by most Bills fans about the team this season. Trent Edwards showed flashes last season that he could finally be our long term starter at quarterback. He had some good games and helped the team win. He also had some rough games which is totally normal for a rookie signal caller. Trent showed his smarts and quick reaction when going to his second or third target. He hardly ever locked on to one receiver and sensed when the heat was coming. I am very excited about this upcoming season. With offensive weapons such as Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish, Josh Reed and rookie James Hardy along with Trent Edwards, I expect this team to make some noise. Our defense is going to be much improved due to the additions of Kawika Mitchell, Marcus Stroud, and rookie Leodis McKelvin. Mitchell is going to make an immediate impact on the weakside. He is a big linebacker with a knack for the ball and can also help out in coverage. Stroud will be a dominant force in the middle. Stroud and John McCargo will help out our run defense tremendously. This team has a bright future and will continue to improve under Coach Jauron. Can you say playoffs? I can. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. Tomorrow starts the first mandatory minicamp at One Bills Drive. The last couple of weeks were voluntary and almost the entire roster was in attendance. The only player to not make an appearance was starting left tackle Jason Peters. It will be interesting to see if he shows up tomorrow. If he doesnt, the rumors are true that he is unhappy with his contract situation. Peters has three years left on his deal but his the teams third highest paid lineman. He was elected to the Pro Bowl last year and is viewed by many as one of the best tackles in the game. We need Peters here from the start of camp. He is a tremendous blocker and is counted on to protect Trent Edwards blindside. I hope the Bills can make Peters happy so we dont have to go into training camp with a distraction.
Today was the last day of OTA’s and the offense shined. Trent Edwards is starting to show why he was named the starting quarterback. He has great chemistry with Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish and Derek Schouman. Look for Schouman to get a ton of playing time this season. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. The Bills were back on the field today at One Bills drive. The offense is starting to come together after some struggles last week. Trent Edwards is becoming more comfortable in offensive coordinator Turk Schonert’s offense. Scott Mayle, Felton Huggins and Josh Reed all had good days catching the ball. Marshawn Lynch was practicing but declined to comment about the recent hit and run with a vehicle that is registered in his name. Its good to see most of the players in attendance. Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish, Aaron Schobel and Jason Peters were not present. I hope Peters makes the mandatory camp on June 11th. He is a big part of this team and we need him out there to help us win. Check out Chris Brown’s notes on buffalobills.com. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. Today the Buffalo Bills had their first team OTA. Chris Brown of buffalobills.com reported that only three players were not in attendance. They were Jason Peters, Brian Moorman and Mike Viti. Peters is recovering from sugery he had for a sports hernia injury. Mike Viti is probably still at West Point because they havent had their finals yet. It was reported that James Hardy made the catch of the day by hauling in a deep ball from Trent Edwards. It was great to see Marcus Stroud on the practice field as well as Paul Posluszny, who is fully recovered from an arm injury. Josh Reed also looked good in catching a few balls. Check out the video on the Bills website.
Lee Evans is entering the final year of his rookie contract signed back in 2004. He was interviewed today and stated that the team has offered him a contract extension. He didnt want to talk about it but did state that he is looking forward to this season. With the offensive weapons this team has, I dont see why Lee would want to play anywhere else. This Bills team is young and has added a talented receiver in James Hardy, which will only make Evans more successful. He might be holding out until the end of the season before signing a long-term extenstion. The Bills really want Evans and feel that he is one of the core players on this team. I hope we can sign Evans and keep him a Buffalo Bill for his entire career.

Hello Bills fans. There is a great article on buffalobills.com about when Donte Whitner was in college at Ohio State, they had to specifically game plan for James Hardy. Whitner goes on to say that Hardy will make some noise this coming season. He states that he was one of the few receivers in college that demanded great attention. I feel that Hardy is going to help our offense out tremendously. He is going to open things up for Lee Evans on the other side and get Roscoe Parrish and Josh Reed more opportunities out of the slot position. The Bills will use Hardy size on a weekly basis especially in the red-zone. I cant wait to see this guy in action. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. Today was the first offseason conditioning program. As per the Bills official website, nearly 50 players showed up for the voluntary workout. Players like Trent Edwards, Lee Evans, Chris Kelsay, Paul Posluszny, Josh Reed and Terrence McGee were in attendance. Its great to see some of the main guys show up.
In other news, the team officially announced the signing of cornerback Will James to a multi-year deal. James will be given the chance to win a starting job. He brings experience and size to the Bills secondary. James is six feet tall and 200 pounds which will help when covering receiver like Randy Moss. I hope James can stay healthy and help improve the teams pass defense. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. As of right now, it doesn’t look like the Bills will be signing a wide receiver in free agency. Free agent Bryant Johnson was in Buffalo two weeks ago and is still trying to decide on which spot he wants to call him. There are reports that Johnson will be meeting with Tampa Bay and possibly the Tennessee Titans. The Bills are playing this smart because they want to lock up Lee Evans before giving a big contract to basically an unknown. Although I do think Johnson would help this team out tremendously, I don’t want the team to give him more than he is worth. It has been said that the team is trying to extend the contract of Lee Evans. Evans has one year remaining on his rookie contract and is due for a big payday. Evans is a true #1 and although he struggled a bit in 07, he should be locked up with a long-term deal. The only thing that scares me is the amount of money wide receivers have been getting. Larry Fitzgerald from the Arizona Cardinals just signed a four year 40 million dollar contract with 30 million guaranteed. The only way the Bills will get this deal done is to offer Evans a contract of close to eight million a year. We need to have Lee on this team long term. Receiver Josh Reed has two more years left on his deal and Roscoe Parrish was just signed to an extension. Reed and Parrish are both valuable slot receivers. Reed is a physical receiver that does not go down on first contact. Parrish is an excellent punt returner also and has the ability to take a short pass to the house. Look for the Bills to draft a receiver with either their first or second round pick. As of right now the teams main concern should be to get Lee signed and then look at the best possible receiver in the draft. Lets Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills lost to the Eagles 17-9 in the season finale. The Bills lost the last three games of the season to fall to 7-9. How can this team expect to win with no offense? Marshawn Lynch rushed for over 100 yards but had to struggle to get there. Our offense was terrible all season long. We set a franchise record for the fewest touchdowns in a 16 game season. Bills receiver Josh Reed stated after the game that the offense was way to predictable all season long. He also said that his eight-year-old son could defend the Bills offense. I agree with you Josh. It seemed every game the Bills coaches were scared to go down the field. It was always run, run, and then short pass. You cannot win in this league by being that predictable. The announcers of yesterday’s game called out when we were going to run the ball. How bad is your offense when even the announcers know when you are going to run. The Eagles would stack 10 defenders at the line of scrimmage because they knew we would run the ball. I love Marshawn but we have to be able to get some yardage through the air to put points on the board. The offense had plenty of chances to score in this game. We were in the red zone four times and only came away with three field goals. Not having Jason Peters out there also hurt our offense. Trent Edwards was pressured most of the day and when he had his chances the throws were not on target. The only consolation to losing yesterday was it helped improve our draft position. The Bills have the 11th pick in the 2008 draft. Hopefully we can add some playmakers to our team this off-season. Go Bills.

Hello Bills fans. The New York Giants travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills. Although we are out of the playoff hunt, a win would show that we are moving the right direction. All of the players really want to end the season 9-7 and build for next season. Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.
Bills o-line vs. Giants defensive ends: This is my opinion is the battle of the day. The Giants have excellent pass rushers in Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora. Tackles Jason Peters and Langston Walker really have their work cut out for them. If we can neutralize their ends, Trent Edwards will be able to scan the field and get the ball to his playmakers Lee Evans and Josh Reed.
Bills Running Game vs. Giants Defense: Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson must find ways to pick up big gains on the ground. Lynch will hopefully reach 1,000 yards for the season in this game. That is a big accomplishment for him as well as the rebuilt o-line. Look for Fred to get at least 5 to 10 carries and a few screen passes. If we are able to run the ball, I feel we will win this game.
Eli Manning vs. Bills Defense: Defensive ends Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay must apply pressure and force Eli into some bad throws. If the weather holds true, it’s going to be difficult to establish the passing game. I’m hoping our defense gets a few interceptions in this one. Cornerbacks Terrence McGee and Jabari Greer will have their hands full with Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer. Look for safety Donte Whitner to grab a pick and help out to stop the Giants backs.
It would be nice to get a win here. What a Christmas gift that would be. I feel this team is headed in the right direction. Coach Dick Jauron will have the team ready to close at the season strong. Bills tight end Kevin Everett is suppose to be at the game and will make an appearance on the field. That is great news. Lets win this one for Kevin. My prediction….Bills 20 Giants 17. Go Bills

Hello Bills fans. This week the Miami Dolphins travel to Ralph Wilson stadium to take on the Buffalo Bills. This is a game Buffalo needs to win to stay in the playoff hunt. Although Miami is 0-12, they should not be overlooked. The Bills must play their game and control the ball. The forecast shows snow, which will make passing the ball very difficult. Marshawn Lynch is most likely going to play this week. He has been out the past three weeks with the ankle injury. Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.
Trent Edwards vs. Dolphins Defense: Edwards had a terrific game last week leading the Bills to a come from behind victory. If the weather is bad, look for Trent to throw to the underneath receivers. I’m counting on Josh Reed to have another big game. Lee Evans should be used more with quick slants and wide receiver screens. I have faith in Trent and now that he will help us win the time of possession battle.
Jason Peters vs. Jason Taylor: This is probably the most important matchup of the day. Taylor is still a dangerous pass rusher. Peters will need to keep him in check so Trent can have enough time to scan the field. Peters will do just fine and is always up for these types of challenges. I think the Dolphins will blitz a lot during this game because Trent is a rookie. The offensive line has been pass protecting well and will need to in this game.
Marshawn Lynch & Fred Jackson vs. Dolphins Defense: Look for Marshawn to get anywhere from 10-15 carries in this one. He and Jackson form quite a tandem and will be relied upon to lead us to victory. If the snow is heavy the Bills will be forced to run the ball. The line must open up some holes for our speedy and tough backs. I would love to see both guys get close to 100 yards each. Wouldn’t that be exciting?
With snow in the forecast, Coach Dick Jauron will be calling a lot of running plays. He does have a lot of confidence in Trent so I’m sure we will be passing the ball to our playmakers. Look for Lynch, Josh Reed, and Fred Jackson to have big games. My prediction…..Bills 26 Dolphins 13. Lets Go Buffalo.
