Posluszny Placed on Injured Reserve, Nall signed

PlayerWell Bills fans, we lost another defensive starter for the year. The Bills today announced that they have placed Paul Posluszny on injured reserve. This to me is really heartbreaking because Poz is a terrific player and he only got to play in three games in his rookie season. This was going to be a year where he would learn the ropes of the NFL game and improve each and every week. He was already turning into a tackling machine and was only going to get better. This really pisses me off. How can we lose so many guys in only three games? Poz joins starting cornerback Jason Webster and starting safety Ko Simpson on injured reserve. The Bills have now lost five defensive starters in all. Keith Ellison is still nursing a high ankle sprain and Terrence McGee did not play last week due to a rib injury. John DiGiorgio had a nice game filling in for Poz. He recorded 12 tackles and ½ sack. It’s a damn shame to lose a player like Poz. Lets hope he gets well soon. The Bills today have also announced the re-signing of quarterback Craig Nall. The Bills had to sign a qb because Losman will be out two weeks. The Bills cut Nall before the season and only kept two qbs on the roster. It’s nice to have a quarterback that knows the system. Nall spent last season on the roster but did not see any action during the season. Lets hope Trent Edwards has a great game this week against the Jets. Lets Go Buffalo. Get well soon Poz.

Defense Needs to Get Some Pressure

September 20, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Angelo Crowell, Anthony Hargrove, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, Die Hard Bills Fan Buddies, John DiGiorgio, NFL, Paul Posluszny No Comments →

Aaron SchobelHello Bills fans. This week is going to be an extremely tough game. The New England Patriots look just like the powerhouse everyone thought they would be. One thing I would love to see this weekend is both Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay sacking Tom Brady. Schobel has had great success against New England’s o-line and has sacked Brady over 10 times. If Schobel can get to Brady on Sunday and maybe force a fumble or a bad throw, I believe we will be in this game. I really want to see our young yet fast defense play a complete game. We need to attack right from the get go and show this New England team that we our no pushover. It really hurts that we have no depth at the defensive end position. Anthony Hargrove getting suspended really but a damper on what I thought would be a great backup pass rusher. He is due back week five and hopefully can contribute right away. He did look good in the pre-season and showed some flashes last year. Our linebackers also have to be flying all over the field this week. Posluszny, Crowell, and DiGiorgio have to tackle with force and get physical with this high-powered offense. Lets hope that defensive coordinator Perry Fewell has some tricks up his sleeve to create some turnovers. The Bills will need to get at least two or even three turnovers to be in this one. I beg you defense, please get pressure on Brady and get some three and outs. Our defense has been on the field way too long in both games and I would like to see our offense have some time consuming drives. Both will be extremely tough tasks against this team. Lets Go Bills and I will never stop billieving.

Preview Game 2: Bills vs. Steelers

September 15, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Angelo Crowell, Ashton Youboty, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, J.P. Losman, John DiGiorgio, Kevin Everett, Kyle Williams, Larry Tripplett, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Paul Posluszny, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. This Sunday the Buffalo Bills travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers at Heinz Field. The game will be on directv channel 706 and in HD on channel 719. Here are the key matchups the Bills will need to win in order to come out of this game victorious.

Bills run defense vs. Willie Parker: The Bills will have a tough task ahead in stopping the speedy Willie Parker. Kyle Williams, Larry Tripplett, Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay need to hold Parker in check at the line of scrimmage. Parker is the type of back that can break one at anytime. The defense needs to slow him down and not allow any big plays. The Bills will also need their linebackers to have a big game. Angelo Crowell, Paul Posluszny and John DiGiorgio must fight off blocks and make tackles. Lets hope we can shut down the run this week.

Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes vs. Terrence McGee and Ashton Youboty: This weeks game will be a tough task for our secondary. Youboty is starting for the first time since being drafted last year. He came in last week when Jason Webster went down and played well. Both Youboty and McGee will be challenged all game by Ben Roethlisberger. I believe one will have an interception in this game. Holmes is a fast receiver and Ward is a savvy veteran who knows how to get open. He is also a very physical receiver. McGee will need to shut him down and hopefully we can get some turnovers.

J.P. Losman and Bills receivers vs. Pittsburgh’s Defense: J.P. in my opinion needs to have a big game this week. Last week he wasn’t able to get into a flow and missed on a long ball to Lee Evans that would have sealed the win for the Bills. Evans, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish and Josh Reed need to get open and find a way to keep the chains moving. Reed is questionable for tomorrow so if he doesn’t suit up watch Parrish have at least 6 catches. I would love to see Evans catch a bomb from Losman tomorrow. Please lets hit on a few homerun balls tomorrow.

Marshawn Lynch vs. Pittsburgh’s run defense: This is going to be a tough task for rookie Marshawn Lynch this week. Pittsburgh doesn’t allow 100 yard games. Their run defense is stingy and Lynch will have to fight for every yard he gets. Lynch really impressed me last week and I feel he will have another strong game this week. Look for Marshawn to get into the endzone against this defense. As long as the offensive line opens up some holes, Lynch will get his yards.

This is another tough game for the Bills. The Steelers looked really good last weekend and have a strong team on both sides of the ball. The Bills will have to play great special teams this week and try to win the field position battle. Last week special teams came up huge and almost helped us win the game. I would love to see Terrence McGee return a kick in this one. I also feel that the team will play with a heavy heart and win this one for Kevin Everett. My prediction…..Bills 20 Steelers 17

Bills put Webster on IR and Sign Player

September 13, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Ashton Youboty, Buffalo Bills, Coy Wire, Donte Whitner, Jason Webster, Jim Leonhard, John DiGiorgio, Keith Ellison, Kevin Everett, Ko Simpson, NFL, Terrence McGee No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. Today the Buffalo Bills have put cornerback Jason Webster on injured reserve officially ending his season. Webster broke his forearm in Sunday’s game against Denver. The Bills have also signed linebacker Leon Joe. Joe is known for his special teams play and will likely be Everett’s replacement on that unit. It is crazy how the defense took so many hits so far in the season. Starting linebacker Keith Ellison was injured in the last preseason game. Coy Wire his replacement, sprained his MCL against Denver. John DiGiorgio is likely going to get the start in place of Wire. Hopefully Ellison will be back in a few weeks. Ashton Youboty will take Webster’s spot opposite of Terrence McGee. This is the time for Youboty to shine and show the organization that they made the right move in drafting him last year. He did look good on Sunday when he came in. Lets hope he can keep the Steelers receivers in check. Jim Leonhard will start at free safety with Ko Simpson being injured. Simpson was also placed on injured reserve. I was really upset when he got hurt because he and Donte Whitner made a great safety tandem. They both played well together as rookies last year. Lets hope the guys who are taking the place of our injured players contribute and get us a win against the Steelers. Lets go Buffalo.

Paul Posluszny = Defensive ROY

September 04, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, John DiGiorgio, NFL, Paul Posluszny No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. I would like to talk about our rookie middle linebacker Paul Posluszny. I’m extremely happy that Coach Jauron named Poz the starting middle linebacker. He has the tools to be great in our defense. Although I like John DiGiorgio, Poz has more of an upside and is an all around better player. Poz reminds me of Chris Spielman in a way because he attacks the ball carrier. Even though Spielman was only on the Bills for two years, he became my favorite player. During the 1996 season, Spielman recorded a Bills record 206 tackles. London Fletcher later broke that. Spielman was such a phenomenal tackler and when I look at Poz I see the same tenacity. Poz if not already will soon win over all Bills fans. He plays with a lot of energy and will help in stopping the run this year. I know he will only be a rookie but he seems like a very smart player and will adapt right away to the pro game. Poz will soon be a fan favorite and will help the Bills get to the playoffs. I love what the organization is doing. We have a really young team with a bright future. Lets Go Bills and go get them Broncos Poz.

Camp Position Battles

August 19, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Derrick Dockery, Die Hard Bills Fan, Duke Preston, J.P. Losman, Jason Peters, Jason Whittle, John DiGiorgio, Langston Walker, Marshawn Lynch, Melvin Fowler, NFL, Paul Posluszny No Comments →

I’m curious to see how the re-tooled offensive line plays this season. This year there aren’t many position battles in training camp. Right guard and middle linebacker are the main ones. At right guard, the Bills are trying out Duke Preston and Jason Whittle. Duke seems like a good fit but with Melvin Fowler injured, he has moved over to center. He did have a terrible shotgun snap on Friday but I believe he will do fine there. Jason Whittle has been around for a while and I do like him next to Langston Walker. Derrick Dockery and Jason Peters form a very strong left side that I’m sure Marshawn Lynch will benefit from. Lets hope the o-line comes together and gives J.P. Losman enough time to hit Lee Evans deep. We will have to wait and see how this turns out. At middle linebacker, the Bills currently have John DiGiorgio as the starter. I do think he is a quality depth guy but would love to see Paul Posluszny take control of the position. He has all the tools to lead the defense in his rookie year. Lets Go Bills and hopefully our new o-line and middle linebacker will take us to the playoffs.
