Preview Game 15: Giants vs. Bills

December 22, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay, Dick Jauron, Donte Whitner, Fred Jackson, Jabari Greer, Jason Peters, Josh Reed, Langston Walker, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Terrence McGee, Trent Edwards No Comments →

buffalo-bills-logo.gifHello Bills fans.  The New York Giants travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills.  Although we are out of the playoff hunt, a win would show that we are moving the right direction.  All of the players really want to end the season 9-7 and build for next season.  Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.

Bills o-line vs. Giants defensive ends:  This is my opinion is the battle of the day.  The Giants have excellent pass rushers in Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora.  Tackles Jason Peters and Langston Walker really have their work cut out for them.  If we can neutralize their ends, Trent Edwards will be able to scan the field and get the ball to his playmakers Lee Evans and Josh Reed

Bills Running Game vs. Giants Defense Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson must find ways to pick up big gains on the ground.  Lynch will hopefully reach 1,000 yards for the season in this game.  That is a big accomplishment for him as well as the rebuilt o-line.  Look for Fred to get at least 5 to 10 carries and a few screen passes.  If we are able to run the ball, I feel we will win this game.

Eli Manning vs. Bills Defense:  Defensive ends Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay must apply pressure and force Eli into some bad throws.  If the weather holds true, it’s going to be difficult to establish the passing game.  I’m hoping our defense gets a few interceptions in this one.  Cornerbacks Terrence McGee and Jabari Greer will have their hands full with Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer.  Look for safety Donte Whitner to grab a pick and help out to stop the Giants backs.

It would be nice to get a win here.  What a Christmas gift that would be.  I feel this team is headed in the right direction.  Coach Dick Jauron will have the team ready to close at the season strong.  Bills tight end Kevin Everett is suppose to be at the game and will make an appearance on the field.  That is great news.  Lets win this one for Kevin.  My prediction….Bills 20 Giants 17.  Go Bills

Bills Future Looks Bright

December 17, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, George Wilson, Jabari Greer, Jim Leonhard, John DiGiorgio, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. Maybe I am an optimist by nature but I feel that the Bills will be a playoff team in 08. Although Trent Edwards struggled yesterday, he gives us the best chance to win. He will only get better with more experience and I believe we have our quarterback of the future. We have a future all-pro at running back in Marshawn Lynch. Lynch has showed flashes of greatness this year with his non-stop motor and his fight for every last yard. Lynch will also only get better with more game experience. Our offensive line has started to play well and will continue to get better with time. Many of our young players that were forced into starting roles this year will provide excellent depth when we are fully healthy next year. Linebacker John DiGiorgio, safety George Wilson, running back Fred Jackson and safety Jim Leonhard have contributed and shown that they can play in this league. Cornerback Jabari Greer has displayed great instincts and has basically earned the starting cornerback job moving forward. Even though my hopes and dreams of the playoffs were crushed yesterday, I am thankful that this team never gave up and put themselves in a position to earn a wild card spot. Trent will lead this team and get us to where we want to go. A few additions via the draft and free agency will only make us better. Our defense is very young and came up big for us this year. We have the talent and with more experience will be a playoff team. Thanks for never giving up this year. Go Bills.

Preview Game 14: Bills vs. Browns

December 15, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Brian Moorman, Buffalo Bills, Donte Whitner, Fred Jackson, Jabari Greer, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Terrence McGee, Trent Edwards No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. Tomorrow the Buffalo Bills travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns. This is the biggest game of the season because the Bills trail the Browns by one game for the final wild card spot. The forecast shows snow and high winds, which will force both teams to run the ball more. I’m totally excited and can’t wait to see how the Bills respond to the biggest game in years. Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.

Marshawn Lynch & Fred Jackson vs. Browns Defense: To win this game, we must pick up most of our yards on the ground. Lynch and Jackson will both get their share of carries and hopefully can repeat their performance from last week. Look for both to get the ball early and often.

Browns Receivers vs. Bills secondary: This might be the toughest battle of the day. Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow will be hard to contain. I hoping the weather is harsh so Browns quarterback Derek Anderson will have trouble getting the ball to his playmakers. Terrence McGee, Jabari Greer and Donte Whitner must bring their A game to slow down Cleveland’s receivers. I have a feeling that Whitner will get his second pick of the season. He is from Ohio and will have a lot of family and friends at the game.

Special Teams: If the weather is as bad as they say it will be, special teams will decide this game. Rian Lindell and Brian Moorman must do their jobs and perform when called upon. I would love to see Roscoe Parrish return a punt for a touchdown. Cleveland has a dangerous return man and our coverage units must slow him down. Look for Lindell to knock home a few field goals.

Every player on both teams know that this is a huge game. I feel that it will be close and the team that holds on to the ball longer will win. I fell both Lynch and Jackson will carry us to victory. My prediction…..Bills 20 Browns 16.

Weather Forecast For Sunday In Cleveland

December 12, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Trent Edwards No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. The weather forecast for this Sunday’s game in Cleveland shows a high of 27 degrees, windy with a 50% chance of snow. This is December football weather. Bills quarterback Trent Edwards has shown that he can throw the ball in harsh weather. If the forecast holds true, I feel that we are at an advantage. It would be nice if we can pound the ball with Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson all game long. Edwards has a strong enough arm to get the ball in the hands of our playmakers. I am really excited for this game and cannot wait to see how the team responds to a game of this magnitude. What a day it would be if it’s snowing and we come out victorious in the biggest game of the season. Go Bills. Beat the Browns.

Final Game 13: Bills 38 Dolphins 17

December 09, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, George Wilson, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, Robert Royal, Terrence McGee, Trent Edwards No Comments →

bills.jpgHello Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins 38-17 in Orchard Park. Trent Edwards went 11-23 for 165 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Bills to their seventh victory of the season. Both Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson rushed for over 100 yards. Lee Evans and Robert Royal both caught two touchdown passes each from Trent Edwards. The defense played great once again registering five sacks on the day. Free Safety George Wilson returned a fumble for a touchdown. Donte Whitner and Terrence McGee both had interceptions. The Bills led 31-7 at halftime. Miami got the score within 14 but Edwards threw a 70 yard touchdown pass to Lee Evans to seal the win. Rian Lindell kicked a 51 yard field goal setting a Bills record with 18 straight kicks made. The defense came up big all day and didnt allow Miami to mount a comeback. This was a great team win. The Bills are now 7-6 and are looking to land the last wild card spot with a big game next week against the Cleveland Browns. Thanks Trent, Marshawn and the defense. Lets Go Bills.

Preview Game 13: Dolphins vs. Bills

December 08, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, Jason Peters, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. This week the Miami Dolphins travel to Ralph Wilson stadium to take on the Buffalo Bills. This is a game Buffalo needs to win to stay in the playoff hunt. Although Miami is 0-12, they should not be overlooked. The Bills must play their game and control the ball. The forecast shows snow, which will make passing the ball very difficult. Marshawn Lynch is most likely going to play this week. He has been out the past three weeks with the ankle injury. Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.

Trent Edwards vs. Dolphins Defense: Edwards had a terrific game last week leading the Bills to a come from behind victory. If the weather is bad, look for Trent to throw to the underneath receivers. I’m counting on Josh Reed to have another big game. Lee Evans should be used more with quick slants and wide receiver screens. I have faith in Trent and now that he will help us win the time of possession battle.

Jason Peters vs. Jason Taylor: This is probably the most important matchup of the day. Taylor is still a dangerous pass rusher. Peters will need to keep him in check so Trent can have enough time to scan the field. Peters will do just fine and is always up for these types of challenges. I think the Dolphins will blitz a lot during this game because Trent is a rookie. The offensive line has been pass protecting well and will need to in this game.

Marshawn Lynch & Fred Jackson vs. Dolphins Defense: Look for Marshawn to get anywhere from 10-15 carries in this one. He and Jackson form quite a tandem and will be relied upon to lead us to victory. If the snow is heavy the Bills will be forced to run the ball. The line must open up some holes for our speedy and tough backs. I would love to see both guys get close to 100 yards each. Wouldn’t that be exciting?

With snow in the forecast, Coach Dick Jauron will be calling a lot of running plays. He does have a lot of confidence in Trent so I’m sure we will be passing the ball to our playmakers. Look for Lynch, Josh Reed, and Fred Jackson to have big games. My prediction…..Bills 26 Dolphins 13. Lets Go Buffalo.

Bills Quick Hits

December 06, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Anthony Thomas, Brad Cieslak, Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Shaud Williams No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. There was a few roster moves made today at One Bills drive. Running back Anthony Thomas was placed on injured reserve. He is the thirteenth player to go on IR this season. Taking his place on the roster is linebacker Leon Joe. Joe rejoins the team after being released a few weeks ago. The Bills have also re-signed running back Shaud Williams and released tight end Brad Cieslak. Williams was released prior to the start of the season. Hopefully he can contribute on special teams. Coach Jauron is optimistic that Marshawn Lynch will be able to play this week. I would assume that he would not be getting a full workload. Look for Fred Jackson to get the majority of the carries this week. I like the idea of having Lynch and Jackson as a one two punch. We should hopefully be able to run the ball this Sunday. Lets Go Bills.

Offensive Line

December 06, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Brad Butler, Buffalo Bills, Derrick Dockery, Fred Jackson, Jason Peters, Langston Walker, Marshawn Lynch, Melvin Fowler, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. The offensive line is really starting to gel. Many people questioned when the Bills gave Derrick Dockery and Langston Walker monster deals this past off-season. Dockery was one of the best guards available and Walker was a good tackle on a bad offensive line. Both have drastically improved the Bills offensive line. Although the line needs to improve on their run blocking, pass protection has been great. This past Sunday they didn’t allow a sack and have protected rookie quarterback Trent Edwards well. Jason Peters is becoming a dominate left tackle and will be a Pro Bowler before we know it. First year starter Brad Butler has played well at the right guard position. Melvin Fowler is a bit undersized but makes up for it with good technique. This line is big and will improve further with more games played together. It’s exciting to see them develop chemistry and that is a major positive for the future of this team. All of the great teams in this league have excellent offensive lines. Hopefully we can keep these guys together and have them lead us to the promise land. I also hope that we can open up some holes this Sunday for Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson. Go Bills. Let’s beat the Dolphins.

Lynch Might Be Ready To Go

December 03, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

lynch2.jpgHello Bills fans. Coach Dick Jauron stated the Marshawn Lynch might be able to go this Sunday. Although Fred Jackson had a great game, having Lynch out there will only put more pressure on opposing defenses. The Bills should use Lynch between the tackles and Jackson around the edges. Lynch and Jackson could possibly turn into our next Thurman Thomas and Kenneth Davis. Both backs can break tackles and bust one for a big gain. It is nice to know that we have some depth at the running back position. Having Lynch out there will only make it easier for quarterback Trent Edwards. Lets Go Bills.

Final Game 12: Bills 17 Redskins 16

December 02, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Angelo Crowell, Buffalo Bills, Fred Jackson, Josh Reed, Larry Tripplett, Lee Evans, NFL, Rian Lindell, Terrence McGee, Trent Edwards No Comments →

bills.jpgHello Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills went into Washington and came out with a win. Rian Lindell kicked the game winning field goal with four seconds left to get the Bills their sixth victory of the season. Lindell kicked five field goals on the day. Trent Edwards had a productive day going 22 for 36 with 257 yards. He threw a big 31 yard pass to Josh Reed to setup the game winning field goal. Fred Jackson rushed 16 times for 82 yards and also had over 60 receiving yards. The defense came up big holding the Redskins to only 16 points. Linebacker Angelo Crowell sacked Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell in the endzone to get the safety. Aaron Schobel and Ryan Denney had great games. Schobel had a nice sack on Campbell. Terrence McGee came up with a big deflection on a pass that was intercepted by Larry Tripplett. Edwards showed great poise and accuracy in leading the Bills down the field with less than a minute left. I was really impressed with the way the team played today. They never gave up and played hard the entire game. Although the defense struggled in the first half, they came up big in the fourth quarter. This was a great team win. We are still in the playoff hunt thanks to Trent. Lets Go Buffalo.
