UB BULLS WIN MAC EAST

How about the other Buffalo Football Team?
The University at Buffalo football team has been through some of the worst seasons in D-1 history since it was brought into D-1 about a decade ago. Who would have thought that this team was capable of what they did last night.
Under a veteran quarterback, explosive running back and a great coach the UB Bulls have done something that they have never done in their history, winning the MAC East and a bowl game.
It took a huge comeback, coming back from a 20 point deficit in the final 13 minutes to play, but what could you expect after games being decided by hail marys and overtime comebacks, this one was no less.
In the first overtime, UB and Bowling Green went back and forth both scoring passing touchdowns, but it was in the 2nd overtime though the game would be decided.
The Bulls defense came up with a huge stop on 4th and goal from their own 1 yard line. Bowling Green ran a screen pass to the left but the UB defenders would not have it. On the next play all UB needed to do was to run the ball to get closer to an easy field goal. Running back James Starks had other ideas.
He took it right up the middle, broke 2 tackles and went 25 yards for a touchdown! The UB Bulls win in double overtime, 40-34.
This is the 1st time in UB history that the team has won the MAC East Division Title, and only the 2nd time that they have been invited to a bowl game in school history. The Bulls will play next week at home before heading off to Detroit to take on the MAC West champ in Detroit.
