Jason Peters Situation

July 31, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Dick Jauron, Jason Peters, Langston Walker, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  As training camp rolls on, the team has still not heard from starting left tackle Jason Peters.  It is not known whether they have even tried to contact him but some teammates have said they have tried and can’t reach him.  First thing, I hope he is ok.  Second, I would like for his agent to come out and say that his client is looking for a contract extension.  Peters has three years remaining on his current contract and is being fined everyday for missing practice.  Bills COO Russ Brandon has said that he would like to see Peters in camp and then they can discuss his contract.  It is starting to worry me that our best offensive lineman is no where to be found.  He needs to be in camp asap working with his team.  Coach Jauron has now decided to give starting right tackle Langston Walker some reps at left tackle.  Coach is hopeful that Peters will eventually show up and Walker can stay at the position he played last season.  Walker did a good job last year on the right side but I fear that he might be a little less agile on the left blocking opponents best pass rushers.  Lets hope this situation gets resolved soon and we can focus on improving other areas.  Go Bills.

Bills Camp Notes

July 25, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Dick Jauron, Jason Peters, Kirk Chambers, Lee Evans, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  Today the team started its 2008 training camp.  The guys looked sharp but the most important piece of the offense was not in attendance.  Left tackle Jason Peters was a no-show which does not come as a suprise.  I was hoping that he would make it to camp but he is most likely holding out for more money.  Coach Dick Jauron said that they would love to have him there but will move on.  Backup tackle Kirk Chambers is filling in at left tackle.  I hope this Peters situation gets resolved in the next few days.

On another note, Lee Evans said that he is hopeful that a contract extension will be reached this summer.  He stated that talks have heated up and are moving in the right direction.  Bills COO Russ Brandon calls Lee one of the core players and wants to keep him in Buffalo long term.  Lets hope this deal gets done before the season starts.  Check out the article on Evans.

Bills Sign Rookie Hardy

July 24, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, James Hardy, Lee Evans, Leodis McKelvin, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  The team has reach a contract with 2nd round pick wide receiver James Hardy.  The Bills open training camp tomorrow morning at 8:30.  This is great news because Hardy is going to be looked at as the #2 receiver opposite Lee Evans.  Hardy will do wonders for this offense and it was important for him to be at camp from day one.  The only draft pick that is unsigned is first round pick Leodis McKelvin.  Bills COO Russ Brandon anticipates that McKelvin will be signed real soon.  Look for him to reach an agreement tomorrow.  I cant believe the offseason is over.  Finally.  Go Bills.

Ellis & Omon Sign

July 24, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Chris Ellis, Dwayne Wright, James Hardy, Leodis McKelvin, NFL, Xavier Omon No Comments →

Hello Bills fans. The team just announced that they have signed third round pick Chris Ellis and sixth round pick Xavier Omon. Ellis will be competing for the fourth defensive end spot. Omon will be competing with Dwayne Wright for the third running back spot. The team now only has Leodis McKelvin and James Hardy to sign as camp opens tomorrow at St. John Fisher. Go Bills.

Bills Sign Bowen; Four Picks Still Unsigned

July 23, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Alvin Bowen, Buffalo Bills, Chris Ellis, James Hardy, Leodis McKelvin, NFL, Xavier Omon No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  The team announced today that they have reached a contract agreement with fifth round pick linebacker Alvin Bowen.  Bowen was a tackling machine at Iowa State and will most likely be a backup and special teams player.  Bowen will be a great asset on special teams because of his aggressiveness.  Their are still four picks that havent signed yet.  First Round pick Leodis McKelvin, second round pick James Hardy, third round pick Chris Ellis, and sixth round pick Xavier Omon.  Look for Omon to sign tomorrow and Ellis to follow shortly after.  I expect McKelvin and Hardy to sign Friday.  Check out the article on buffalobills.com.  Go Bills.

Bills Interested in Favre?

July 22, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  The Green Bay Packers are supposedly shopping Brett Favre.  I found an article on nbcsports.com that lists several team interested including the Bills.  The article states that Green Bay has spoken to several AFC teams and one NFC team to see what they would offer them for Favre.  I don’t see the Bills being a major player in the Favre sweepstakes.  The Bills are set on developing second year quarterback Trent Edwards.  Although it would be nice to have Favre for a year or two, I would like to see what Trent can do with a whole season.  Favre would definitely make things more exciting and the Bills would become a better team right away.  Its going to be interesting to see if Favre does indeed get traded.  I just dont want to see him go to either the Jets or Dolphins.  Go Bills.

Bills Quick Hits

July 21, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Alvin Bowen, Buffalo Bills, Chris Ellis, Jabari Greer, James Hardy, Lee Evans, Leodis McKelvin, NFL, Terrence McGee, Xavier Omon No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  I can’t believe training camp is only five days away.  The only concern I have at this time is that there are still five draft picks unsigned.  Leodis McKelvin, James Hardy, Chris Ellis, Alvin Bowen and Xavier Omon.  I believe Ellis, Bowen and Omon will get signed within the next few days.  McKelvin and Hardy will be more difficult and might miss the beginning of training camp.  The team needs both guys there from day one to learn from the veterans on the team.  Both McKelvin and Hardy will be relied upon to contribute from the start.  I feel that Hardy is the one that we need to have in our starting lineup from week one.  Hardy has the height and ball skills to help this offense in the redzone.  The team needs Hardy to take pressure off of star wide receiver Lee Evans.  If Hardy can develop into a solid threat, look for Evans to have a monster season.  McKelvin will most likely be the nickel corner unless he has a tremendous camp.  Terrence McGee and Jabari Greer are solid and are more than capable starters.  Lets hope everyone is signed and in camp on Friday.

Whitner Bonds With Hardy

July 20, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Donte Whitner, James Hardy, Leodis McKelvin, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  I posted an article last week on how Donte Whitner is taking Leodis McKelvin under his wing and helping him on and off the field.  Whitner is now doing the same thing with second round pick James Hardy.  Whitner is showing us all how great of a teammate and person he is.  He is going to keep both players focused and in turn this will make the team better.  Whitner should be nominated a captain this season because of his dedication to the team and all of its new players.  The Bills are extremely lucky to have such a great player and person such as Donte Whitner on their team.  Check out the video on buffalobills.com.  Go Bills.

Bills Getting Noticed

July 16, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  I just came across this article written by Mike Lombardi from sports illustrated listing three non-playoff teams that will make a big leap this season.  Lombardi’s first team is the Bills.  He states that he loves the team and feels that Bills will be a very tough team this year.  He goes on to say that last year with a few bounces here and there the Bills were almost a playoff team.  He lists our playmakers such as Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish.  He also mentions our great special teams and our  bright young quarterback Trent Edwards.  Lombardi is also the guy that said the Bills had a fantastic draft when he was on NFL Network.  Check out the article on SI.com.  Go Bills.

Training Camp Only 10 Days Away

July 15, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Chris Ellis, Jabari Greer, James Hardy, Jason Peters, Leodis McKelvin, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Terrence McGee No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  I can’t believe training camp starts in 10 days.  I am very excited to get this season underway because of the improvements the team has made this past off-season.  I have a few concerns right now going into camp.  The Bills top three draft picks are still unsigned.  Leodis McKelvin, James Hardy and Chris Ellis need to be in camp on day one.  McKelvin and Hardy especially because both players are going to be relied upon from week one.  Hardy needs to get comfortable in this offense because he will eventually become our #2 receiver.  I feel comfortable with our starting corners and would like to see McKelvin learn from Jabari Greer and Terrence McGee.  McKelvin should also be used on special teams as a returner.  He has great speed and showed in college that he is a threat to take one to the house on every return.  Its tough to say if he will beat out McGee or Roscoe Parrish but it will be great to see him get some shots in the preseason.  The only other main concern I have, which probably is the biggest, is the Jason Peters situation.  Peters missed all the voluntary and one mandatory camp this offseason.  It has been speculated that he is looking to cash in after his Pro Bowl season last year.  Peters also must be there from day one to continue the chemistry the o-line developed last season.  Lets hope all the rookies and Jason Peters are at St. John Fisher come July 25th.  Cant wait to get this thing started.  Go Bills.
