Hello Bills fans. Pete Prisco of cbssports.com published his top 50 players in the nfl today. Jason Peters was the only Buffalo Bills player on the list. Prisco ranked Peters #27 and states that he is a young rising player that has a mean streak. After making the Pro Bowl last season, many around the league have taken notice to Peters. He is turning into a dominant left tackle that should be anchoring the Bills line for the next 10 years. Peters needs to be paid right now and the team will make sure he is happy come training camp.
Hello Bills fans. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated that he does not see the Bills ever leaving Buffalo for Toronto. He stated that the team will use the additional revenue playing in Canada to remain in Buffalo. This is a great sign that the Bills will remain in Buffalo even after owner Ralph Wilson passes on. That is the major fear of many Bills fans because it has already been stated that Wilson’s family will sell the team. Goodell also stated in the article that regionalization will help keep the team successful in Western New York. Check out the article on NFL.com. Go Commish, Go Bills.
Hello Bills fans. Finally the day has come. The Marshawn Lynch situation will hopefully be resolved tomorrow. Lynch is scheduled in court tomorrow and will plead guilty to a traffic violation that will help him avoid a criminal charge. I dont believe the league will suspend Lynch because of the charges at hand. I hope this will put the entire situation behind us and let Lynch focus on football. Hello Bills fans. The team announced that they have come to terms with fourth round pick Derek Fine. Fine will compete for a backup spot at the tight end position. He is an experienced special teams player and will contribute in that phase right away. He isn’t the biggest guy but set records at Kansas for most receptions for a tight end. I liked when the Bills picked Fine and feel he will contribute right away.
Shortly after the signing of Fine was announced, the team reach a contract extension with starting right guard Brad Butler. Butler still had two years left on his rookie deal but showed last season that he can be a full-time starter on the offensive line. The team did not release details of the contract but Im sure Butler will be getting a raise. He started all 16 games last season after winning the position battle in training camp. Butler showed me a lot last season. He formed a strong tandem with right tackle Langston Walker. If the Bills can sign Jason Peters to a long term deal, we will have four out of the five starters on the o-line locked up for a long time. Go Bills.
Hello Bills fans. The team announced today that season ticket sales have topped the 53,000 mark. This is the most sold since 1992. There is only one game left with limited availability. That is the game against the New England Patriots on December 28th. Its amazing how there will be hardly any seats available when individual game tickets go on sale in July. Check out the story on buffalobills.com. Go Bills.
Hello Bills fans. We are only five weeks away from training camp at St. Johns Fisher College. There is a ton of optimism by most Bills fans about the team this season. Trent Edwards showed flashes last season that he could finally be our long term starter at quarterback. He had some good games and helped the team win. He also had some rough games which is totally normal for a rookie signal caller. Trent showed his smarts and quick reaction when going to his second or third target. He hardly ever locked on to one receiver and sensed when the heat was coming. I am very excited about this upcoming season. With offensive weapons such as Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish, Josh Reed and rookie James Hardy along with Trent Edwards, I expect this team to make some noise. Our defense is going to be much improved due to the additions of Kawika Mitchell, Marcus Stroud, and rookie Leodis McKelvin. Mitchell is going to make an immediate impact on the weakside. He is a big linebacker with a knack for the ball and can also help out in coverage. Stroud will be a dominant force in the middle. Stroud and John McCargo will help out our run defense tremendously. This team has a bright future and will continue to improve under Coach Jauron. Can you say playoffs? I can. Go Bills.
Hello Bills fans. As per the Buffalo News, Marshawn Lynch is expected to admit that he was the driver when the hit and run accident took place in Downtown Buffalo. The article states that Lynch will not receive any jail time because he will plea to a lesser charge. Im extremely happy that this situation is coming to an end. I feared that it would last longer making Lynch miss some time during training camp. I hope Lynch does not get suspended by the NFL. Lets hope this is the last mishap of the offseason. Go Bills.
Hello Bills fans. As per nfl.com, the Buffalo Bills along with a few other teams have shown interest in free agent running back Kevin Jones. Jones played for the Lions but was released prior to the NFL draft. Jones is recovering from knee surgery and looks to hook up with a team in the next few weeks. He had some good season with the Lions rushing for over 3,000 yards in four seasons. The only reason that I see the Bills interested in Jones is because he will add to the competition for the backup spot behind Marshawn Lynch. If Jones is completely healthy, I wouldn’t mind the team bringing him in as a backup. I do like current backup Fred Jackson a lot but if we can improve in any area at anytime, I’m all for it. Lets see how this one unfolds leading up to training camp. Go Bills.
