Bills Offense Needs Big Day

October 31, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Derek Schouman, J.P. Losman, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Robert Royal, Roscoe Parrish No Comments →

buffalo-bills-logo.gifHello Bills fans. This week should be the game where we have an offensive explosion. The Cincinnati Bengals don’t have the greatest defense in the league. J.P. Losman needs to air it out and hit Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish with the deep ball. I wish we could get the tight ends involved more in the passing game. Robert Royal disappears at times and Michael Gaines has too many drops. I guess they are both good blockers but we need a good receiving tight end. I do like rookie Derek Schouman. I feel that he can be a good option for J.P. this week. The Bills use Schouman in the H-back role. He has played well there since his call up from the practice squad. The Bills haven’t had a good tight end since Pete Metzelaars. We also have to find a way to get Marshawn Lynch more receptions. He has a nose for the first down marker and the endzone. Lets hope offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild gives J.P. the green light to throw the ball deep. I also feel that if J.P. has a good game he will get the start next week. I feel that we will be just fine this week with J.P. at the helm. I have a ton of confidence in him to bring home a victory. I know that I will be supporting J.P. and I’m sure the fans at the Ralph will be also. Lets Go Bills. Please bring home a victory.

Losman Gets The Call

October 30, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

jp-losman.jpgHello Bills fans. Coach Dick Jauron announced that J.P. Losman will start this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. It was originally said that a decision wouldn’t be made until Wednesday. It appears that Trent Edwards sprained wrist will probably prevent him from practicing all week. I’m glad that it was announced today. I wrote yesterday that I felt Losman would get the start. I want to see him take this opportunity and not look back. I want someone who will lead this team and help us get into the endzone. I really like Trent Edwards and feel that he can lead this team but I like Losman because he has more game experience. Wide receiver Lee Evans has basically come out and said that he likes Losman as the starter. I can see why after Sundays 85-yard bomb. Evans and Losman have great chemistry that developed during the second half of the 2006 season. Evans is a burner and J.P. has the cannon to get him the ball. I’m not saying that Trent doesn’t have a good arm; I just think that J.P. has a great arm. Hopefully we can bring home a victory and J.P. can show the organization that he is the answer to our long term quarterback question . Good luck on Sunday J.P. Lets Go Bills.

Will Losman Regain Starting Role?

October 29, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. The main question after yesterdays win is did J.P. Losman do enough to regain his starting role. This is a question that will not be answered until Wednesday’s press conference from Coach Dick Jauron. Losman orchestrated two scoring drives helping the Bills to win their second straight game. He came in and almost connected on his first long ball to Roscoe Parrish. Rookie quarterback Trent Edwards left the game late in the third quarter and it was said today that he suffered a sprained wrist. No one knows how serious the injury is but I can bet that Losman will start this week. Can this be were Losman leads this team to victory and wins back the job he lost when he suffered an injury? I hope that he does get the chance to start this week. I want to see if this whole qb switch has lit a fire in his belly. I would love to see him come out and have a monster game against Cincinnati. Don’t get me wrong; I like Trent Edwards a lot. I feel that he will be a really good quarterback. I just don’t like the way that J.P. lost his job. He only played in two games against tough opponents. Maybe this is what J.P. needed. He went into this season as the number one guy compared to last year when he had to fight for it. It could be that he didn’t feel the pressure on him because his backup was a rookie. It can also be said that in Trents four starts, the Bills are 3-1. This is a very tough decision for Coach Jauron but I think J.P. will start because Edwards is injured. I hope J.P. runs with this opportunity and never looks back. I don’t know but I really want to see him succeed. I feel that he has all the tools to be an elite quarterback. We have the weapons in Evans, Reed, Parrish, and Lynch. Lets use them more and put some points on the board. Lets Go Bills. Whoever starts has my total support.

Final Game 7: Bills 13 Jets 3

October 28, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Angelo Crowell, Anthony Hargrove, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, J.P. Losman, Jabari Greer, John DiGiorgio, John McCargo, John Wendling, Kyle Williams, Lee Evans, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Terrence McGee, Trent Edwards No Comments →

john-digiorgio.jpglosman_jp2.jpglee-evans.jpgHello Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills defeated the Jets today 13-3. Trent Edwards started the game and went 14-21 for 130 yards and one interception. He left the game at the end of the third quarter with a wrist injury. J.P. Losman came off the bench and went 3-5 for 113 yards and a touchdown. His 85-yard bomb to Lee Evans put the Bills ahead to stay. He also threw a bomb to Roscoe Parrish that was on the money but Parrish couldn’t hold on. Losman came in and drove the team to two scoring drives. Marshawn Lynch had 21 carries for 80 yards. As always all of his yards were hard fought. The offense was really sluggish today until the 4th quarter. We had a great opening drive that lasted over ten minutes but couldn’t put the ball in the endzone. Rian Lindell was perfect on the day going 2 for 2 on field goals. The defense had another tremendous game. What can I say, it just seems that we are getting better and better on the defensive side. Aaron Schobel had a sack and two forced fumbles. John DiGiorgio led the team with 13 tackles. Kyle Williams and John McCargo contributed with some great tackles. Angelo Crowell had a big sack knocking the Jets out of field goal range. Anthony Hargrove and Chris Kelsay had solid games applying pressure on Pennington. Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell really has these guys playing hard. Terrence McGee and Jabari Greer held Coles and Cotchery in check. Our special teams also played great. Our punt and kickoff coverage was phenomenal. John Wendling had two special teams tackles. I was very nervous during this game because it was close up until Evans touchdown. Our young team is finding ways to win close games. Something that was a tough task only a few weeks ago. Lets Go Bills. Thanks for the win

Preview Game 7: Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

October 27, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Aaron Schobel, Angelo Crowell, Buffalo Bills, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Trent Edwards No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. This Sunday, the Buffalo Bills travel to the Meadowlands to take on the Jets. Rookie quarterback Trent Edwards will make his fourth start of the season. Edwards faced the Jets in week four and had an impressive game. Hopefully he can do it again and lead the Bills to victory. Here are the key matchups to this week’s game.

Trent Edwards vs. Jets Secondary: The Jets defense has given up a lot of yards and will be without their best player Jonathan Vilma. Edwards should have enough time to throw the ball against the Jets defense. Hopefully Lee Evans can have a big game and catch a couple of long balls from Edwards. Look for Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish to have plenty of receptions in this one. I feel that if our o-line can protect Trent, we should be able to move the ball threw the air.

Thomas Jones vs. Bills defense: The Bills defensive line needs to keep Jones under 100 yards. If we can stop the run, it will force Chad Pennington to air it out. Our defensive backs might have a few interceptions if our d-line can get some pressure on Pennington. Look for Aaron Schobel to have a big game. I’m going to say that Schobel will have two sacks in this one. I also feel that our defense has come a long way. We have speedy linebackers that can fly to the ball. Angelo Crowell will be making tackles all over the field.

Marshawn Lynch vs. Jets run defense: This game is a perfect opportunity for Lynch to get his first 100-yard game. The Bills will give Lynch the ball early and often and I’m hoping he can bust open for a big gain. Our offensive line needs to control the line of scrimmage and open some holes for Lynch. I also believe that Lynch will play a big part in the passing game. Lynch is due for a big game and this could be the week he gets it. I’m going to predict 28 carries for 128 and two tds.

This is a game the Bills need to win. If we play like we did last week we will come out victorious. Trent Edwards and Marshawn Lynch will have big games and our defense will hopefully create some turnovers. I’m also hoping to see a big game from Lee Evans. My prediction is Bills 23 Jets 10. Lets Go Bills. Bring home a victory.

Marshawn Lynch Is Ready

October 25, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

lynchjersey.jpgHello Bills fans. Marshawn Lynch is ready to have a big game this week. I’m counting on him getting over 100 yards and a couple of tds. Lynch has been running hard the whole season. His 3.6 yards per carry doesn’t translate to what he does on the field. He runs with passion and it always takes a few guys to bring him down. The offensive line needs to step up their run blocking and open up some more holes for Lynch to run through. I’m so glad that we drafted Marshawn. I really like his running style and he is a perfect fit for our offense. He also is a very likeable guy. Every time I watch him talk to the media, he always has a smile on his face. He just loves to play football. He seems like a great teammate and everyone talks highly about him. Lynch is becoming one of my favorites on this team. I hope he is in a Buffalo Bills uniform for a long time. The Bills definitely made the right choice drafting Lynch and trading McGahee. If Trent Edwards can make some plays on Sunday, Lynch will have room to run. The Jets stacked the box the first game of the season because of our rookie quarterback. Edwards had a good game against them so hopefully this will back the safeties up and prevent them from stacking the box. Lets Go Bills. Lets Go Lynch. We can win this one.

Bills Long Term Quarterback

October 24, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

buffalo-bills-logo.gifHello Bills fans. Since Jim Kelly retired in 1996, the Buffalo Bills have been looking for a long-term answer at the quarterback position. The Bills have had numerous quarterbacks since then. Todd Collins, Doug Flutie, Rob Johnson, Alex Van Pelt, Drew Bledsoe, Kelly Holcomb, J.P. Losman and now Trent Edwards have all started games. I would love to have a starter that lasts more than three years. Trent Edwards is now the starting quarterback for the foreseeable future per head coach Dick Jauron. I just wish he would come out and say that Trent is the starter for the rest of the season. I can see why the coaches are going with Trent because he has helped us win two games. I guess you have to ride the hot hand here. J.P. Losman kind of got a raw deal. I feel that losing your starting job because of injury is a bunch of crap. I do like Edwards a lot but feel that Losman deserved another chance. After watching J.P.’s press conference on buffalobills.com, I got the sense that he is angry but will keep his composure for his teammates. The last thing we need is tension in the locker room. The coaches feel that Trent is the right man for this offense yet Coach Jauron stated that he likes both quarterbacks. If Trent struggles does Losman become the starter again? If Trent does well I don’t think Losman will take to a backup role to well. The Bills brass has a little bit of a weird situation on their hands. If Trent performs and this team wins, do you trade Losman or hope to keep him as an insurance policy. I don’t know what to think. I’m just a little tired of the organization constantly changing their minds. Stick with one guy and move on. Teams in the NFL need continuity to be successful. I hope the coaches and the organization are making the right decision here. I just want to get back to the playoffs and end this drought. Lets Go Bills. Please bring home a victory this Sunday.

Trent Edwards Named Starter

October 23, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, J.P. Losman, NFL, Trent Edwards No Comments →

dickjauron2007-200.jpgtrent-edwards.jpgHello Bills fans. Coach Dick Jauron announced today that rookie Trent Edwards will make his fourth straight start against the Jets this Sunday. Although Edwards didn’t have a great game against the Ravens, he showed his skill set by successfully executing the no huddle offense. He also drew the Ravens defense offside five times in the first half. The rookie has shown that he can manage the offense and he also knows when to throw the ball away. The team is starting to have faith in him because of the way he runs the offense. I get the feeling that Edwards will remain the starter for the rest of the season unless an injury occurs. In a way I feel bad for J.P. Losman. I really thought he was going to have a great year. It just stinks that he had to get hurt early in the third game. I don’t know if he could have played much better than Edwards but would love to have seen him out there. Edwards doesn’t seem like a rookie out on the field. Of course he is going to make some errors but he seems to have what it takes to win in this league. He makes good decisions and knows when to hit his checkdowns. Good Luck Trent. We are all pulling for you. Go Bills.

Defense Impressive in Win over Ravens

October 22, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Angelo Crowell, Anthony Hargrove, Buffalo Bills, Chris Kelsay, Donte Whitner, Jabari Greer, John DiGiorgio, John McCargo, Kyle Williams, NFL, Terrence McGee No Comments →

john-digiorgio.jpghargrove.jpgHello Bills fans. Still flying high after our win yesterday. Mondays are so much better after a win. One thing I have to say is I love the way the defense is playing. Angelo Crowell was all over the field yesterday. He led the team in tackles and had a big forced fumble in the first half. It also seems that middle linebacker John DiGiorgio is developing into a real good player. He has tremendous speed and seems to always be around the ball. DiGiorgio shows that he belongs out there and plays hard every snap. Anthony Hargrove is another player that has sparked this defense. Since coming back from his suspension, he has been a relentless pass rusher and just seems to fire everyone up. I really like the way our young defensive tackles are playing. Both Kyle Williams and John McCargo had tackles for loss yesterday and show they can get into the backfield. McCargo is showing why the Bills traded up to get him in the first round in 2006. Jabari Greer is also another player that has stepped up his game and contributes every week. Greer and Terrence McGee give the Bills two corners with great closing speed. There are both very aggressive and really good tacklers. Donte Whitner is also playing well. He has really impressed me with his toughness against the run and his ability to help the corners out in coverage. Credit also has to be given to defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. He has really developed great game plans even though he is missing some of his starters. The only thing that concerns me is that Chris Kelsay injured his ankle yesterday. It was not said how serious the injury was but we cannot afford to lose another defensive starter. This defense seems destined to show everyone that they are no pushovers. Lets go Bills. Bring home another victory.

Final Game 6: Bills 19 Ravens 14

October 21, 2007 By: Billy5407 Category: Angelo Crowell, Anthony Hargrove, Buffalo Bills, Jabari Greer, John DiGiorgio, John McCargo, Lee Evans, Marshawn Lynch, NFL, Terrence McGee, Trent Edwards No Comments →

billslogo.jpgHello Bills fans. What can I say? Great win for the Bills but I was at the edge of my seat for the last seven minutes of the game. I know a win is a win but I would like to put a team away when we have the chance to do so. I was again impressed by the play of Trent Edwards. His final numbers weren’t that great 11 of 21 for 153 yards and one interception, but he managed to bring home the victory. The only mistake he made was the interception in the 4th quarter that setup a touchdown by the Ravens making the score 19-14. Marshawn Lynch ran hard and ended the game with 27 carries for 84 yards and one score. The offensive line had a tough day opening holes for Lynch. Lee Evans had a great game catching 5 passes for 98 yards and his 54-yard reception setup our only touchdown on the day. We did have plenty of chances to get in the endzone but came away settling for field goals. Rian Lindell was perfect on the day making all four of his field goal attempts. Our defense once again played great. They held the Ravens in check most of the day and forced them into some 3rd and long situations. The defense also stopped the Ravens on a crucial 4th down at the end of the game to basically seal the win. I have to give credit to Anthony Hargrove, John McCargo, Angelo Crowell, Jabari Greer and Terrence McGee. We didn’t give up any big plays through the air and forced Kyle Boller to rush a few of his passes. I just wish that our offense could score more touchdowns. We need to get our receivers involved more and stop being ultra conservative when in the red zone. I have to give credit to our coaches today because our offense was able to move the ball at times against a real good Ravens defense. I really like how our young defense is coming along despite injuries to key players. McCargo is really playing well along with John DiGiorgio and Anthony Hargrove. I hope the team carries this momentum into next week’s game. Thanks for the win. Lets Go Bills.
